I have a Jeep Rubicon with the large screen nav. Can I connect my iPhone to the system without having to pay ATT every month 10.00? And will I be able to answer an incoming call without the phone connecterd to system?

Nope, phone has to be connected either with the cable or Bluetooth.

Paying for the hotspot will not make your vehicle capable of working without the phone

You’re probably paying $10 a month for a hotspot. This means your jeep will act as an internet connection in the event you want to use something like a laptop.

you’re receiving calls wireless through a free service built into the vehicle, Bluetooth. Your phone will wireless connect to the stereo and make receive calls through there at no cost.

unless these radios have some capability I’m unaware of, the $10 charge is not necessary to do what you want

You can connect through Bluetooth for free. It then uses your phone through the system. Even if you plug it in, it's still using Bluetooth for phone stuff in Carplay

If you're paying $10 that for a wifi hotspot the jeep will transmit so that others can connect to, to give them internet. The thing is most people's phones do that already anyway so it's redundant to pay for it.

As far as I know, you can't use the Jeeps built-in wifi hotspot functionality for phone calls but I never rises it so I am not too sure.

Your phone must be connected to the jeep through Bluetooth.
