Anyone have a picture of the steel bumper with the ends off as well as the back of the fog light housing?
From another thread here...

Thank you. As i suspected, the steel bumper has a much better look. Less mustache and tougher looking.

I know. Duh.

Yea plastic bumpers always look kind of meh. The JL Sahara I saw in person actually was not all that bad to be honest. It was not quite as "wow look at this huge chunk of plastic" like I thought it would be. The JK bumpers were awful IMO, just big plastic rectangular chunks of tupperware....but the JL is not as bad.

Disagree for multiple reasons, a lot of us do not want the safety group in an off road vehicle. It's just another option that costs money and is something a lot of us do not care about. It's something else to potentially break, it might go nuts when an aftermarket bumper is applied, or it might cause a problem when offroading in 4-hi (it's disabled by default in 4-lo)
I agree on this point. I'm preparing to order now and it just wasn't something that I wanted as an option. I'd rather add the cold weather group for the same price (yes, I live in TX, but I am from farther up north and may move back someday).

If you buy the steel bumper separate, you don't get the steel air dam that comes with the option package though.

To answer the OP's first question, they are ALMOST identical to the 10A / Hard Rock / Rubicon X bumpers, but there are small differences, especially where an accessory bar would mount. I actually have the Hard Rock bumpers on my JK (with the Maximus-3 bar) and I can see the small differences between that and a JL bumper. I did speak to Maximus-3 at Jeep Beach this past weekend, and they said their JL bumper bars are in development and will be out soon... so there will be more options soon besides the MOPAR bar.
