Changed tire size on my Sport S from stock 245/75 to 285/70 and took it to the dealership to get the computer flashed for the new tire size. They called and said that the computer didn't need to be updated because the new tires are "within range" for stock Jeeps. Does this sound legit to anyone? My assumption is that the bigger tires, even though they are stock Rubicon size will throw off my speedo readings.

Nope, they're incorrect. However, it won't be off by much, so much that you probably would never notice.
