Looks great!
They showed me pictures of the before and after on the ramp and she gained about a foot further up. LONG legs up front. I'll post them when they share them.

Amazeballs! Jeep looks very good. How's the ride?
First impressions are very stock-like, but a bit more solid? Not harsh at all and drives great. I was expecting it to be stiffer to be honest but there you go. This will change as things break in and I get the alignment dialed in.

Off-Road Lights: Install!

So long as you got the tow package and the aux switches, wiring is really easy. I tied into switch 3 & 4 because I wanted to control the pillar lights separate from the bull bar lights. All very tidy.

The front lights plug in and the wires just follow the winch wires. I did pull the tire liner to make it easier, but that will require new plugs when you finish.

The pillar lights are even easier as the passenger side just drops right to the aux lines while the driver's side can follow along just under the hood as there are many spots to attach too.

Both sets of lights are as bright as I'd hoped.

As with most of the Mopar bits, they look very well made. Can't wait to test them on the trail!

Solid.

I've driven over some good dirt washboards and taken turns with good joints that bounced me before and had no issues. Just solid. I wasn't disappointed with the steering before, but I really think the Jeep should have come with these. Worth it.

My first Jeep was a 2006 LJ with 4.5" lift and 35" mud terrains. I loved that Jeep. It got me anywhere I wanted to go and a few places I didn’t.

Being my first Jeep I had no idea what my goals were or what I needed to get there. So I followed a meandering build path that led me to much heavier tires on a Jeep that was too tall and no longer fun to drive on the streets. Acceleration, braking, cornering, talking to the wife at speed, all took a hit for the ability to crawl over rocks I wasn’t looking to conquer.

I bought the new 2018 JL to start over. The goal is to wander more and worry less.

I chose the 2 door manual because it’s more suited to my needs/wants: Fun and easy to maneuver. The 4 door auto may have been a better choice for an overlander, but I’m stubborn that way.

Update: I've failed to stave off the upgrade bug. I got larger tires and a 2.5" lift. The trails call, and I will go see what's out there with a bit more clearance and travel.

I named the Jeep: Wanderer

Hi Gary,

great to see that you put "my" MOPAR tailgate reinforcement to good use

I notice that you have installed the Metalcloak Game Changer and also the Yeti draglink and tie rod.

Question
  • Did you install the Yeti pro-actively, or did you experience wobbling and sought to address that?
  • If the latter: was it successful?
Thanks, Peter
