What was the total time that took you to paint your dash?
A few weeks, but couldn't tell you in hours.

If you don't have to go back and sand the pieces back to start 3 times and you have the right paint to begin with? I'd give a day to pull, prep, and prime, then second day for the paint and clear coat layers. If you allow 30 - 45 minutes dry time between coats this could take a bit of time. Finally another day to let things dry before putting them back into the Jeep. A good long weekend.

I do like having done it myself, but you may get better/faster results dropping it off at a body shop.

2019 King of the Hammers

Just back on Friday 2/8/2019 from King of the Hammers, it’s an incredible event for those who love racing and all things crazy. 4x4’s on steroids blow up sand and rocks in a blitz that often ends in bits.

I was there with my buddy and neighbor of 18 years who built a Toyota to run in the Everyman Challenge. He made it 108 miles this time around before being blocked by a broke down Jeep on a rock section. It was an incredible effort and he was well pleased by the rock crawling he was able to do. A lot of fun for all.

While I was there I was finally able to meet Britney and Kevin (Lite Brite) and see Step Child (oh yes, JLe was adorable and as friendly in real life as online). Only after I got back was I able to catch up on their adventures out in the Hammers. Great videos on Youtube, do check them out. They got excellent recovery gear from Factor 55, who also helped my driver with some great gear. I’m sold on their products after closer review.

Proper RECOVERY GEAR! Our Jeep Wrangler JLU Rubicon Is Finally Outfitted!

Bestop Sunrider Update:

After running out to California and back again with the Sunrider (over 2000 miles), I can say that the top is quiet enough for good music and a normal conversation with passengers even at 75 mph. The ease of opening and closing is just awesome. It really makes a hybrid of the hard top. You get the soft top ease of opening with the hard top advantage of real glass to clean. You can even keep a small rack for extra gear. What more could you want?

Almost don't need a soft top anymore. Almost.

Unfortunately it ends up being too thick for the license plate flip cover. So the plate goes below again.

They will add about 9lbs to each corner though. Will test how well they hold a bead this summer.

I thought I saw your wheels on Craigslist ;)

I love the new wheels. Can't wait to see it all on the Jeep.

Milestar Patagonia M/T Tires!

So here are the Milestar Patagonia M/T LT315/70-R17 OWL tires. 68.7lbs as far as my suitcase scale can show. (No pics as I push too many pencils.)

An interesting note:

Wanda is 17.25" from the pinch seam. She's got steel bumpers and a heavy ass winch though.
Update after adding the new wheels and tires. Wanda is 18.75" from the pinch seam.

Now given that the tires are only 1.7" taller than stock I should have only gotten 0.85" increase and not 1.5" measured. :whatsgoingon:

Ah well, I'll take it.

(Tires are at 33 psi.)

are these 0 offset? Amazon has a smoking deal on the MR312 that I may get just because of the price.
