Bad ass Gary! We've been doing 14ers but I don't have the guts or will to do Capitol. We've done Yale, Huron, and Handies this year and a bunch of other hikes. Capitol is a serious mountain!

Great motivation to get out and see Colorado. Love the hikes.

Capitol is no joke. Serious exposure and not the least bit forgiving if you get lax in your attention. Glad we had good weather to finish.

Ouray 2020

Finally, we were able to get out to Ouray and spend time with George (@Blksmth ) and Tina. Had a great drive out with autumn colors starting and a great camp picked out by George.

Some of the best landscape you can ask for in the area, but this is a Jeep forum so here are some with Jeeps.

Overall an epic trip. Always things to see and more trails to explore. Some of the best were the ones off the beaten paths. Best of all, spending time out and about with good people.

MetalCloak Flip Step and Rear Diff Skid Installed

The rocker base on each side required two new holes to be drilled out. Once done and paint dried, install was as simple as it seems. Just bolt them all in place.

IMG_9983.JPEG

I also touched up a couple of the other holes while I was at it. Don't want to have rust later.

IMG_9988.JPEG

Nice and clean. Highly recommend painters tape before putting the rocker base in place to mark off the holes.

IMG_9991.JPEG

Love that you can run these in three different configurations. Likely to keep this lower step setup. It works great as a step.

Rear Diff Skid

I did not install the diff covers because I will likely regear and want to do that all at once.

The bolts are torqued to 50 ft-lbs. Easy peasy.

Moab 2020

This year, we went out on a holiday weekend so we avoided the main trails and just went exploring.

IMG_0028.JPEG

We first setup base camp along the river on 128. The Kamp-Rite double cot tent turned out to be comfortable and stored on the roof.

IMG_0061.JPEG

Then we went exploring with George and Tina.

IMG_0067.JPEG

One of the stops we got to see the Lucky Strike Mine.

IMG_0103.JPEG

The next day had us out on the Kokopelli trail.

IMG_0111.JPEG

IMG_0112.JPEG

Where we quickly found many out of the way campsites that would have been better than hanging out by the river.

Looking back through the pictures, I have to admit I didn't take enough. It was fantastic getting out with George and Tina again and we just enjoyed the exploring.

Next time we will do some of the named trails. :sun:

The long drive home met with much colder temps and a long line to the tunnel. :asshat:

TSB 08-074-20 parts installed.

IMG_0261.JPEG

IMG_0263.JPEG

The dead spot and slop that I'd always attributed to driving a Jeep was changed today.

The TSB replaced the aluminum gear housing and I thought steering ratio? From my initial impressions the steering ratio didn't change but there is no 1" - 1.5" of play where the wheel moves and tires don't. The moment I turn the wheel, I get a response. Very nice.

I'm still waiting on my parts. Good to hear it helped and they did yours before mine :)

I only got a few miles up I-70 and then back home on the new gear, but it was noticeable. Even driving out of the parking lot the slop was gone. I noticed the Jeep doesn't pull to the left anymore either.

I'll have to get more drive time in, but I think you are going to like it. :like:

That's good to hear. How long did it take you to get through the process with Autonation?
