gary, quick question:

it looks like you mounted these Mopar lights directly on the bumper. But, you also have a picture of the Mopar grille guard with the lights on it. I really like the fender mount. Does the Mopar grille guard fit over the lights when the lights are fender mounted like you have them?
There are taller grille guards that would go over the light, but not this one. Just trying things out but there are a lot of mounting options. I really like what they did with the J6 but don’t know what guard that is.

More changes today. Took the pillar lights and moved them to the bumper.

The lights up by the windshield actually made it harder to see when on a dusty trail, the added wind noise was annoying, 1 mpg drop in mileage, and they were in the way of putting the windshield down. Though the last is a marginal impact as I don't really drive much with the windshield down. lol

Looks like you mounted the 5” lights to the top of bumper? Did you need the Mopar Bumper bracket kit 82215428 and did you use existing bolt holes on the OEM steel bumper? Thanks, Larry

I just mounted the 5” lights to the bumper using the existing holes.

Still messing with the Jeep...

After playing with tire pressure and even swapping the front tires, I still have a bit of push toward driver's side. Wes from Trail Jeeps suggested I take off the steering stabilizer. I guess if they are too strong they can "push" steering a little bit?

Anyway, I'll find out today if I should have just kept the stock steering stabilizer. Once Metalcloak comes out with their adjustable shocks tuned for their springs I'll likely be selling the RockSports all at once.

I was ready to call BS, but as it turns out the Jeep drives great without the stabilizer!

WTF? :surprised:

Seriously loving the Steer Smarts Trail Jeeps sold me. I'm going to either wait for a stock stabilizer to show up or get the Steer Smarts stabilizer as Wes recommends. Both are more "neutral" he says. Apparently, he knows what he's talking about.:like:

I had a reply typed up, but didn’t send, saying to the effect that, I haven’t read or heard of that specific stabilizer doing that. That kind of stabilizer, yes I have heard of the Fox version like that one, that kind of stabilizer, doing that. Really strange. anyway, love my Teraflex Equal Force ATS type stabilizer. I believe the ATS are more equal pressure specific. If you can, I would get away from the traditional shock like, which the steer smarts is also, and go with an ATS type. Plus Teraflex are from our neighboring state. ;). Plus, it’s adjustable, I normally drive it on Low, as I find it stiffer than stock, but I plan to run medium when we head out to Moab. If you do go that route, you do have to Make a change to, to change out the connector for mounting to the tie rod. I did it myself, and it was a pain in the ass. But you can call Teraflex and they will do it for you.

I've already had the Metalcloak relocation and then the Steer Smarts bracket. Spent too much as it is to go spend another $300+ on a stabilizer. I'll find a stock stabilizer and call it a day. The Jeep drives great without it, and I really don't want to get fancy and then smash it on a rock. :asshat:

I do like the adjustability though.

Smash it on a rock? I don’t think so. The bracket on the right to mount above the tie rod, is the extra piece I mentioned, and then is connected into the MC relocation bracket. Nice and high, out of the way. Perfect setup in my mind.

I looked it up and it was in the stock location. That it works with my current relocation sounds like a better bet. Still, another $300+ for adjustable road feel.

I do think this will be a must though:
