Nice! JT grill is on my list of things to do too.
It's not a lot of money or time to add a bit more flow. If nothing else, you have a wire tie for when you install your front camera. :like:

I doubt anyone will ever do it and I certainly don't have the equipment or expertise, but I'd be curious to see a flow test on the 2 honeycombs.....I doubt the JT style flows any more...maybe a couple percent.

That said, everyone should spend their money and time as they choose, so if you believe in it, good enough.

If it were much more money I wouldn't bother, but it's really not bad. There is a wire catch that I assume holds the front camera wire, so there is that.

I think the real improvement will be in the fan. Maybe itwill not sound like a Jet Fighter taking off?

I read the jalopnik article about how the grille allegedly improves cooling and was part of how they got the tow rating of the Gladiator....of course the other key components were deeper gearing and a larger fan (I wonder how loud THAT is LOL)... anyway I suspect the latter 2 were far more significant than the grille....but of course we all know there's no reason to doubt FCA engineers

Anyway, I kinda like the look of the new grille and it looks like a fun little project - a good way to spend some quality time bonding with your JL ;)

I would love to join you, we all should plan it
Yes we should. I have vacation dates approved and a place to stay booked already. Be fun to get a few JL’s together.

I do love how the Roam sliders protect the sides.

Now if you have 4.75" backspace and wider tires, there's always going to be a bit of rear fender coverage...

:like:
I'm with you on the protection aspects of the ROAM sliders. As a fellow Punk'n owner, prior to the sliders, even with factory wheels and tires I was trashing my rear fenders and door paint. The chips seem to really show on the orange, so appreciate any protection I can get.

Next project: JT grill inserts

In the hopes of a bit better air flow, and because it didn't cost much, I got the JT grill inserts. (Read here.)

(Thanks @raim314 for the heads up on parts!)

Install was super easy and I am glad to find out that the grill was so easy to remove. When the time comes, I'll plasti dip it to hide the chips. lol
I planned to do that myself to potentially help keep cool here in AZ, but then I remembered how often I get rocks thrown by other vehicles on the road and wonder if this larger opening would allow a small rock or other object to hit the radiator. Small chance I'm sure, but still concerned.

If I get damage, I get an excuse to get a bigger better radiator?

Yeah, I didn't really think of that but that would be a good point. I'll also be more careful when using the power washer on the front.

That is a good way to justify a bigger radiator for sure, I like how you think.
Even with the potential risk, I really like the look of that. I also did not think about potential sticks poking through out on the trail or power washer like you mentioned. But I'm sure Jeep thought of that or would not have put it on the JT. Honestly, my guess would be eventually the grills on the JT and JL will be the same for cost reasons. Also, it may be a requirement if they ever have a trail cam option you can buy and add on later.
