just over inflate the spare so you can drop it down to whatever you want if/when you get your flat. the spare doesn’t report on your TPMS screen until it’s spinning on the ground.

no need to jerk around with it every time you play with your tires (unless that’s your idea of fun).
Or, under inflated the spare so if you have a flat it is a little lighter and a little smaller so you can handle it better and get it on the hub easier then just keep an inflator in the vehicle to put in a little more air. As Ratbert said it can also protect expensive things off road better and it really isn’t that much harder to add some air than to let it out if you have the right equipment.

you must have missed my later post before you responded.

i doubt you'd be able to measure the difference in weight from the extra air at pressure with anything short of laboratory-quality equipment.

(and yes, of course, we all have a compressor on-board.)

Yep, the difference in the weight of a tire at 0 PSI versus 32 PSI is only a few hundredths of a lb.....like around 0.03 lbs. or maybe an half ounce.
