😁 …… STAGE 2 ! 😲
Seriously- a no tune required stock TB ported in a way to increase low end velocity and top end flow will give some benefit. When combined with a ported stock intake manifold with no tune ~12-14 HP increase on a V8. It cost me ~$1,250* for the small increase. But, I did the same to my V10 Dodge with a tune and headers for good low end torque gains and moderate top end HP gains with mileage increasing from 8-9 to 11-12 but premium required. The ported stock TB itself was $295 and should give small no tune gains for about the price of a CAI if available for your engine.
* the porting was $395 , I got a new manifold for $489 (+ $77 shipping) to not have the long downtime to take it off, send it, job and return time. (MMX 4X4) …. I have the PCM for after warranty tune , hopefully at least shortly headers will be CARB approved (not currently CARB approved ). …… or 🙏 Ca’s granted exemption from complying with federal standards is rescinded by then.

I had some extra cash and opted for the Mopar version - already knowing it would do nothing to improve performance and really I don't hear it I did like one thing - I liked the way it looks - cleaner - plus it is a "factory" option. But yeah, performance wise - it's a nothingburger.

I did inspect the factory intake and though it didn't look much different in theory than an aftermarket CFM. Didn't see much of a difference. Thanks for the help; I won't bother.

The ONLY benefit is sound. Only reason I got mine.

Most of the "cold air intake" systems use a filter that does not match the filtration of the OEM.

It has the same benefits as a catback exhaust, except with some underhood bling thrown in.

BTW: this may be the single most asked and answered question on this forum. And...the answers are ALWAYS the same, yet somebody must be buying them.

Actually, on reflection it's tied with "do I need to reinforce my tire carrier to carry a 35" spare?" That one at least has a divergence of opinions.

Is there any benefit to be had by replacing the OEM filtered induction with an aftermarket cold-air induction assembly? Gas mileage, power?
Did you ever wonder how they get more air flow from a filter with less area than the OEM filter? Most of the filters can't filter small particles that the OEM filter can. Some are so bad that you can see dirt in the intake tube.

I like mine. Gets hot in FL and your not always moving fast enough for airflow though that front grill scoop (aka traffic, bush trails, group runs). I would really only consider the mopar kit or snorkel as others have mentioned . Some kits just grab air in the original location, not sure how that air is any cooler. Either way, do not expect mind blowing performance gains (if any).

I put a cold air intake ( I think K & N) and a flow master exhaust. Not sure it made any difference in mpg or power…but. The 3.6 is a gnarly little engine and I think it sounds great, especially with the doors off in the summer.

no noticeable performance gains but it does give me smiles gains! If you want to hear the 3.6 then I say go for it. If you are happy with the current sound then don’t worry about it.

Hmmm- the single most asked, it’s debatable
