I just wanted to share my experience on the recall as I have been reading a lot about it but not seeing a lot of recall repair stories.

I purchased my Wrangler a few days before the recall announcement in March (just my luck). I drove it anyway and never noticed any slipping or smells (I’ve been driving manual vehicles for over 20 years). Called my dealer 2 weeks ago when I received the recall letter in the mail. Dropped it off yesterday and they had it ready by 9am this morning. They installed the sleeve and bled the clutch. There wasn’t any air so they said it is good to go. I haven’t noticed any difference in the clutch feel. A majority of vehicles I owned were manual including 2 other Wranglers. I don’t think any of those vehicles had same feel to them I would just get used to them over time. The JL clutch doesn’t bother me and is fun to drive.

I just called Moritz CDJR in White Settlement again (three weeks later) and there are still no parts.

You did not have the recall repair done on that Jeep. That clip is the primary problem. It causes wear, in addition, pulls on the reservoir hose potentially causing air to enter the system. The air in the system is what causes the clutch to fail to engage/disengage properly. I cant believe so many dealerships are clueless about these safety recalls.
I thought there was a stop sale on all vehicles until the recall is performed?

Same here. Had mine in. They put in part number CSDLW123. I assume that is the sleeve.
then it says install CRC valve. Mine passed test. So I guess the pressure plate wasn’t changed.

I just called again couple of days ago and the answer was "couple of weeks" .I asked if the parts are coming from China and the specialist started to explain to me how complicated the suply chain is blaaa, blaaa , blaaa , so I gues we will have to wait. Due to the Chinese virus most of us are not heading on vacations anyways so I can wait longer.
Parts are hard to come by whether from China or anywhere else these days. I work at a company that manufactures military & medical componenets and even in good times we have supply chain issues & yes even though the component (motors, servos, etc) say "made in USA" the piece parts come from all over the world including the virus producer, China.

You are correct.

I asked the dealer if the recall had been done, and they said yes. When I look up recall history by my VIN on the Mopar Owner's site, it says the recall has been completed. To be fair, my vehicle came from a different dealership (my dealer traded for it), and the losing dealer "performed the recall." I'm sure my dealer just looked up recall history by the VIN, saw the recall was performed by the losing dealer, and reasonably assumed the recall had been performed without physically inspecting the vehicle to verify.

I'm not happy about buying a $50k+ vehicle, specifically asking about the recall, and being told that the mandatory safety recall has been performed on it, only to then discover on day 2 of ownership that the recall has not been performed.

Brought mine in today and of course it was the first one my dealership had that has failed. They said it will take up to 3 weeks to get parts, and due to safety issues, they cannot release my Jeep to me. At least I got another wrangler (a sport) as a loaner, but it’s not my Jeep. I’ll add this to the rapidly growing list of issues I’ve had in only a year of ownership.

good luck , I am in the same boat
Did both of you have the clutch test completed? That's the first step. Some dealers were just looking up the VIN and seeing 3 parts attached to the recall and ordering them, which is holding it up.
If you haven't had the test done yet, let me know and we can set up your appointment.
If you have had the test and are waiting on a specific part, let me know that as well.

My dealership told me also that the parts are “Vin Specific” and have to be ordered. They haven’t offered a test.
My clutch works fine btw, so I’m in no rush.
However should something go wrong I don’t want to be accused of disregarding the recall.
I was told by them that they’ll call me.

Mine is a 2018 and there is no clip on mine. No issues either. I did the test myself and it passed. Got an appointment next week just because I don’t want to ignore a safety recall, but if they say there is an issue I’ll be very suspicious.

Jeep Wrangler JL Clutch Recall (FCA W12 | 20V-124) on 2018-2020 JL Manuals [overheating clutch pressure plate] 4B52A03D-ABB2-42D0-9BC9-ADFE1597C4BA
I have a 2020 that was built and purchased in Sept ‘19. The clip on mine wasnt attached either. They performed the recall by installing the sleeve and testing the clutch and it passed. As for bleeding the line, i doubt it in the time it took. But a pass is a pass and ive never had any problems with it in the past.
