It didn’t help my steering at all. But it’s about 1-1/2 of play has been since 10k miles. 5miles to 9999 was good..hit 10k slightly sloppy.Did it help with steering.
Took mine this morning they told me it would take all day. I asked them to just check the ball joint torque. Can’t do that. Showed them video of the noise. We need to go over everything. I’ll take it to a mechanic and pay him.I had been having this same issue and just wanted to provide an update for anyone who is having a similar issue. It sounds like it may be becoming more prevalent.
I had the same issue: a metal-like clicking sound at low speeds, typically 1-3 clicks at a time. I really couldn't figure out any pattern to it. It sounded like it was coming from the left front. It was really only noticeable with the windows down or the doors off. I didn't notice any issues with steering, transmission, etc., it was just annoying.
I took it in this week and they found that a left front ball joint bolt was not properly torqued. I can confirm that fixed the issue. I hope this saves y'all some time if you take it to your dealer.
Lol that's great. I'm sorry, not laughing at you. I had the dealer replace my wheel hub and they admitted it wasn't fixed. Then they took the whole knuckle apart and Chrysler told them tighten everything to factory torque specs and now the noise is gone. So I would either suggest going to another dealer or take matters into your own hands and tighten the nuts on the knuckle some moreI have a very loud version of this noise the dealership said it was a wheel hub bearing. They told me they had the part in and to drop it off 3 weeks later they say they haven’t actually got it in yet. Another week goes by (a month now) they say it’s replaced and ready to pick up of course the noise is exactly the same and now they say it’s operating by design.

Many in this thread including me had all 4 ball joints re-tourqued or replaced to fix it. I’ve put 2k miles and still no click click click click..it ain’t normalLol by design. Click click. Click click click click..
Hi Tyler,
We're sorry to hear about your experience. Has a case been opened on the Customer Care side to add assistance while working with your dealer? If not, please feel free to send our team a private message!

yeah I tried telling them to starts there but as soon as you mentioned anything about hearing something on a forum they intentionally ignore that possibility entirely so they get to figure it out the hard way I guess. Sad part is the customer service at the dealership has been better than the case manager at Jeep cares at least I can get them on the phone or return my calls. Many in this thread including me had all 4 ball joints re-tourqued or replaced to fix it. I had to go to a different dealership. If they would have refused then next step would have been to call Jeep. So far it’s been close to 2800 miles and no clicking has returned. The loose steering is another issue altogether.yeah I tried telling them to starts there but as soon as you mentioned anything about hearing something on a forum they intentionally ignore that possibility entirely so they get to figure it out the hard way I guess. Did you have yours replaced or just re torqued?I had to go to a different dealership. If they would have refused then next step would have been to call Jeep. So far it’s been close to 2800 miles and no clicking has returned. The loose steering is another issue altogether.
The Tech re torqued all 4 and added that if the clicking returned they would consider full replacement. So far my only lasting issue is the sloppy steering which no one seems to think isnt normal...Did you have yours replaced or just re torqued?
