As it's getting colder this problem is becoming more noticeable. For the first 15 minutes after startup, there is a clicking noise coming from only the left freedom panel and it happens if I'm going over a smooth road, bumpy road, twisty road... no common pattern. I think it's just the cold rubber/plastic lining hitting each other, anyone know any fixes for it?

I have not noticed this and we have had some cold weather as well. Do you treat the rubber with anything? I use 303 which conditions and protects rubber and plastic from UV damage. I'd start there unless you have treated the rubber already...

I haven't treated it with anything but I'll certainly try. I've already tried loosening and tightening the screws for the latches and that didn't seem to make a difference. I have a service scheduled tomorrow so if they can't fix it I'll try out the 303, thanks!

I too started hearing this - although my "clicking" sounds to me more like it's coming from the passenger side Freedom panel. Almost as though it's something inside of the two piece assembly (outer smooth shell, inner rough framing) - could there be some flashing "floating" around inside the framing on the panels?

My passenger panel makes a clicking noise. I put some food grade silicone grease on the locating pin and that seemed to minimize the noise. So, I think I am getting closer to a solution

I second using 303. All the places the freedom panels touch and possibly rub against the other parts of the hard top or doors. The 303 is nice and slippery to not hear the pieces move around. I do have to treat the top when I start to hear the noises again.

I found that using silicon on anything rubber is a huge help. It went away for me, plus it cured the squeaking you get from the back glass over time.

Hi Everyone,
We certainly understand why this may be frustrating. Are you considering having your dealers take a closer look? If so, please feel free to loop us in via PM. We would be happy to connect you with a Case Specialist if needed.
