Clear coat new lift kit before installing?

Hi,
Before I put on my gold zinc metal cloak lift.... should I clear coat it?
Eastwood satin diamond clear.
Wisconsin winters and salt, etc

No idea, tbh. I would think that the zinc coating would do the job on it's own, but I live in AZ, LOL!
