Chrome ring around Jeep logo on steering wheel flaking

Anyone else having this issue or heard about it?

the jeep is a 2018. Less than 20k miles on it.

the chrome ring on the steering wheel is flaking off. Leaving a nice whitish plastic base visible.

should be covered under warranty im assuming. Have about another month left on the factory warranty.

Mine's a 2018 and it looks just like the day I got it.

2019 here and it looks perfect. Sounds like a production range flaw with the part.

No issues for 5 years on my 15 JKU and no issue on my 20 JLU.

just picked the jeep up from the dealer. they said they hadnt seen it before either. they had a new airbag in stock so they replaced it.

I just bought my 2018 and the interior is perfect except for this same thing. They replaced the whole center piece?
