I need a 7" drop for the Wrangler 2 dr. But not sure to go 6" or 8" that are available.

My utility trailers are 2000 max weight and 200# tongue weight. I'll rarely pull that.

So I can go 6" and have some elevation of the tongue empty or go 8" with some downward tongue when trailer loaded.

So would you guys go 6" drop or 8" drop?

6 is a lot. Do you have a lift? Anyway, I’d go with 6”, knowing that tongue weight will help level it. You never want to pull a trailer with the tongue below level.

And thanks Ten North Prex. That one's great. Realize my trailering is for 4x6, or 4x10 utility trailers with MAX of 2000#. I had considered an adjustable earlier but put it aside as to cost and not wanting a bottom ball as a point to get hung-up. But I'll admit I bought an adjustable for the very low weight I tow and for the several heights (7" and 5" drops) of trailer I use. Sorry to seem cheap but it's the right tool for me, IMHO, for the local rinky-dink trailering I do 2-3x a year. $28 Amazon.

I don't judge anyone. ;) We all have our specific needs, preferences, and price points. For what you are towing it sounds like a good option to save the money for the next accessory.

Wow, good price. I have the Reese Towpower adjustible, $50 on Amazon. Looks like the drop/rise listed on Amazon is backward.

Just out of curiosity, what trailer are you wanting to pull that needs to be that low? The 6-7 inch drop.

Mine's like this one. Tractor Supply. About a 4x6.Using standard drop measurements, top of hitch shank is 19" high and bottom of ball coupler is 12" above ground when level. All adds up to a odd 7" drop. So I just do my best with an adjustable. The Deere D110 fits inside perfectly.
