We're back with another All-Terrain tire launch, this one from Cooper Tires!

Available in 4-ply rating (SL & XL), the Cooper Discoverer Road+Trail AT refreshes the popular Discoverer AT3 4S with incremental improvements where it mattered most. Featuring a next-generation tread pattern, the Discoverer Road+Trail AT utilizes a more rugged sidewall design over its predecessor which transitions nicely from the shoulder lugs. In addition the new aesthetics, drivers can expect superior wet performance and improved steering feel, with the same on-road comfort found with the previous version. If you find yourself mainly driving on-road with camping adventures sprinkled in throughout the year, the Cooper Discoverer Road+Trail AT is worth a look!

I've had a set of Cooper Discoverer All terrain tires on my wife's Xterra over 3 years now. By far the best AT tire I've ever owned! It's her daily driver, the tires still look like new, they have a great looking tread, they perform fantastic in snow and on wet pavement, they're quiet, they wear evenly, and the price was great!

Are you joking? I wouldn't hesitate to buy another set!

For what it's worth, I ran the AT3 4S (and its predecessor, the AT3) in XL load for seven years on my prior Jeep, pushing it through all sorts of rocky trails in Arizona, and I never had a flat or puncture (though I chunked quite a bit of tread blocks and had abrasions on the outer layer of sidewall). I was a careful driver.

That's great that the Cooper brand has served you well. Rest assured this new product has maintained many strengths and improved where needed. Let us know when your ready to move forward, we are here to help.

Thank you for chiming in with your experience. We hope more forum members will try these out and let us know how they like them.

Is this the successor to the AT3 4S?
Yes, the AT3 4S is being discontinued and the Road + Trail is taking its place.

Just ordered a set. These light-duty AT tires should fit my needs. The 255/75-17s come with "COOPER" raised white letters. Not a fan of this so I will have the tires mounted with the white letters inside.

Just got a set of these for my Tundra, very aggressive looking tire. Like usual @Discount Tire did amazing. Right now Cooper has a $100 mail-in rebate that can be combined with $80 Discount Tire web savings which makes these an amazing deal.

Discount Tire is always prompt and professional. I will definitely hit them up when I upgrade to 35's on my Jeep in the next few months.

"Road & Trail" is a good name for these tires. My wife and I took a road trip from NJ to Houston, TX (3500 miles round trip) when these tires had only 1000 miles on them. These tires performed well on the interstates...Smooth, quiet, poised in rainstorms. On our way home, we also drove our first Jeep Badge of Honor trail. These Coopers performed very well on the rocky/uneven trail. These light-duty AT tires are perfect for our needs.

255/75-17 ... Just slightly larger than the OEM 245/75-17 tires on the Sport S.
