A hood latch? Free extra parts from the factory I assume.

We need to see it with this. I may be copying you if it helps noise.

You win the prize. Of all the random extra parts to find underneath the seat. The weird thing is that it’s never slid out or made any noise in 2 and a half years. I unbolted and raised the seat to install my compressor under there and never saw it. Weird.

I’m going to do a layer or 2 of spray on Boom Mat under the flooring so I presume it will quiet things down a lot. It better.

They must have known your most excellent build involved so much hood activity that you'd wear out the original latch. That's too funny!

Got the spray on Boom Mat in today. Got it sprayed on, giving it a day to fully dry. I’ll install the Armorlite tomorrow. Even though Armorlite said it was OK, I felt better after putting some vacuum caps on the carpet retention studs sticking up in the floor.

Nice! Let us know how the Armorlite install and fit is. Been considering it.

I just finished installing it last night around dark. I’ll report back with thoughts after taking a road trip this weekend.

Here’s a few pictures of the (mostly) finished product. I’m going to put the grommets from the carpet in the ugly unfinished looking Armorlite holes.

Well after 500 miles of driving, much of it an extended highway trip, I can confirm that the Armorlite does help reduce heat on the floor. I drove quite a bit with bare feet so that I could judge. Heat control is better. My subjective road noise evaluation is inconclusive. I wanted it to be quieter very much, but to my ears it didn’t reduce road noise at all. But it does look great. I like it and I’ll be buying and installing the cargo floor when it’s available.

EDIT: Road noise may be slightly quieter. Not a ton, barely noticeable.

I had my 3W Liners 4-door window control module installed at a Jeep Slop Shop in Kemah today. It seems to be working as it should. Very happy with it.

My set is on the way! Thanks for confirming the functionality CT! Cost was significantly better than I thought it would be, too.

After being denied last week for the steering gearbox replacement TSB 08-003-21 due to “extreme modifications including 37” wheels and suspension lift”, I spoke with the service director of the dealership and asked him to reconsider. I noted that the TSB specifically states that it can be performed even if the Jeep has modifications. He said that he’s been told from Jeep that the modifications that are allowed are “tires up to 35” and lifts up to 2”. He said he’s a by the book person but would ask the area manager to make a call.

He calls me and has me bring it in on Tuesday. Today I get a call back and the service writer tells me the gearbox has been exchanged. Great. I know that they actually did the work because there’s power steering fluid all over everything in my front end. It seems tighter than before but I only drove a few miles home. I’ll double check the fastener torque and ensure the fluid is full and has air removed from the system before deciding how big an improvement it is. But my initial thoughts are that it feels better than before. Yay!
