Bulletin is S2123000046.
Suspension and steering components not torqued correctly from factory.

I had this clicking noise coming from the front end... ball joints were only torqued to 15 lbs.

Dealer fixed it.. but wow.

What model year(s) is this bulletin affecting? It would explain why at work when I get into new jeeps they just click away when driving.

I have the clicking as well. Better schedule a dealer visit.

This morning I tightened my ball joints without taking cotter pins out. I wasn't able to spin the nuts by hand, which suggested they were "tight". However, was convinced enough that this was still the source of the clicking. So while I couldn't fit a socket with torque wrench on the nut with the pins sticking out, there was a little bit of space between the pin and the castellations in the nut so I went ahead and tightened with a regular wrench. Probably 1/16 of a turn at most.

Guess what. The clicking stopped...

Anyone have a pic of the bolt that possibly needs tightening? The clicking on my Jeep is driving me crazy.

I have this as well on my '21 Rubicon...
Was wondering to take it in or not.

Anyone have the actual text of this TSB? I just had my '21 JLUR in the dealer for the second time for steering issues--they said it drives fine, no issues identified. And they didn't mention this bulletin, only the steering gear one that technically didn't apply to 2021 models.

That is up to you. When they Re-torqued the ball joints and the clicking went away.
I think they re-torqued everything there.
I thought the clicking was coming from the front left hub, but up on the rack the clicking was coming from the front differential.

Easy just to re-torque it yourself. Figuring out the cause wasn't so simple. Clicking from a front diff and the cause was the ball joint was not torqued right.

Does anybody have the torque spec for the balljoints? My ‘21 started clicking a few days ago.

That is interesting, as the dealer noted the lower on mine was incorrectly torqued to 15.

So you torque the lower to 15; then the upper to 55; then the lower to 33. Seems they missed the last step on mine from the factory.

Just curious if this would apply to a Jeep currently in production? Or will they have fixed the problem on the assembly line already?

My 21 JL 2 door was delivered in March. I had the problem resolved by the dealer yesterday. Clicking is gone. Now my question is did the ball joints get damaged while they were loose?
