Check Engine Light: P0455

Last Friday when I was driving to work, I got the check engine light on my 2019 JLR 2.0 Turbo. Its only 5 months old with a little under 8k miles on it, all stock.

I read the code using one of those ODB2 readers and found it it was a P0455 (Evaporative Emission System Tank Leak Detected - Large Leak). After a quick google check, I made sure the gas cap was tight. The light was still on for the rest of the day so I scheduled an appointment with the dealer just to make sure it wasn't anything serious.

Two days later on Sunday, the light goes away and everything seems to be normal. I cancelled my appointment with the dealer as I figured it was probably the gas cap or just an error.

Should I be concerned about anything else? Should I take it in to the dealer anyways? With the light being gone, are they going to be able to check anything?

Just wait and see if it asks up again.... Might be wasting your time at a dealership if the CEL isn't on... Might give you the "cant replicate the problem" spiel

Hello, did the light come back on at all? Same thing is going on with mine. The last two times i have put gas, my light came on and it’s the same emissions code.

Mine hasn't come back yet. Although now I am extra careful to make sure the gas cap is on tight (4 clicks).

A "large leak" usually indicates that your gas cap wasn't making a tight seal. May have just needed that extra click.
