😮Yes you are correct…that is VERY weird!
lol
And very well is your check engine problem then!

Id go back to your dealer and show them and they should quickly pull one off another Jeep and quickly install it.

But if you are correct by what you are saying …..than rest assured that’s the cause of your check engine light and once you put a gas cap there the check engine light will soon disappear
I am heading over there asap!!!!!!!!!!!! thanks man

I'm not sure about the Sahara but my Grand Cherokee didn't come with a gas cap either. The fuel filler had a small, retractable, black flap covering the opening that you just pushed the gas nozzle past. When you removed the nozzle the flap sprung back into place.
Yeah thats what the guy at the dealership said too, he said its inside? and I cant even research this lol

A lot of new vehicles now come with capless fuel systems, there's just a spring loaded flap in the filler neck.
Hmm interesting, than I may have unintentionally
Gave the OP wrong info.

maybe there Are different standards in different countries?
A buddy of mine has a ‘21 and has a gas cap

from Canada.
My bad op if it indeed doesn’t actually come with a gas cap.

Edit: I’d still bring to dealer and ask what’s up

guess I learned something new today!
I don't think you gave the wrong info. I have a '21 JLU Rubicon with that outer cover and still have a cap on the inside. I don't see how the Sahara would be different.

APPARENTLY MINE IS SUPPOSED TO COME WITH ONE, I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP LOL SMH. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP
Good to know, yea I haven't looked at any 2021 Wranglers and the last thing I'd probably think to check is the gas cap. Gas caps are becoming a thing of the past, eventually Jeep will catch up (maybe). I personally prefer one, filling up those flapper door style ones from a jerry can is a PITA from what I've read, not to mention keeping dirt out.

Mine looks like the second pic [bottom photo] when I open that door there is no cover its just open, which I think is weird?? shouldnt there also be a twist off? the deslership said they dont come with those
Wow, never heard of that one before. If yours looks like the second pic, when the door is open it should look like the first pic (with an open door of course).

If it doesn't, go directly to the dealer. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200.
That's definitely why your check engine light is on. It's also safety issue, your gas tank is not sealed. So no smoking.

Nice, I'd expect a $1500-$2000 job when that non-serviceable .50 part fails.
The Jeep Cherokee has it in that style. The dealer made a point of showing me and I thought it was great!

And this is why jeep dealers are worthless lol they sold a jeep wrangler with no gas cap and claimed that's how it's supposed to come lol

The forum jeep members win again, they know more than the expert jeep dealers as usual hahahaha 😆
