I had this dog tag created and cabled tied to the dip stick. The Jeep dealership F'd up twice even though I reminded the service advisor and put a note on the dash the 2nd time in case person A didn't remind person B that it was 5 not 6 quarts. Below is the picture - same thing printed on both sides just in case Moe, Larry or Curly looked at the wrong side. Cost $4.95 on Amazon, took 5 days to arrive. They sent a coupon for $10 if you give them a review, so bought two more tags for other purposes. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MAX6VQR/ Click on "military" to see the elongated tag.

And I'm not the only one where they put in 6 quarts instead of 5 quarts -

Internal surf rack...bc I don't have a roof rack yet (still debating on what to get) and to be honest, its a PITA to put surfboards on the roof if you don't have to :)

PVC for the crossbars with some pipe insulation as padding (will eventually wrap them in canvas). I have them temporarily strung up from the roll bars with some parachord. I'm using the empty holes on the back rollbar to anchor the rear crossbar. I read somewhere it would fit an 8M 1.5 bolt, but that was too small. I need to go out and find the right fit.

All and all, not too bad. I can fit two boards pretty comfortably (biggest being about 7'2"), and the bars are easy to remove if I need to pack the kids in the jeep :) I should add that I'm not a tall guy, and the boards actually rest above my head with room to spare.

Maybe use the roll bar coat hanger loops to hold the PVC crossbars. https://www.amazon.com/Clothes-Wran...t=&hvlocphy=9031092&hvtargid=pla-751197201794

Great Idea!

I painted the speaker grills with factory paint I had made up into a spray can. Taped them off, used the interior plastic trim tools to run along the indent that goes around the edge. Then cut the tape and painted. Turned out great

Like some of you, it would be nice if the tabs for the rear soft window would stay in for me.

I'm trying something I want to share.

I had one of these lying around. https://www.harborfreight.com/tool-...orage/18-divider-storage-container-94456.html

It comes with way more dividers than you need. I took two dividers and cut about 1/4" off the tips and shoved them into the rear soft window tab retainers first. The dividers are "lipped" so they're easy to take out.

Next I put in the rear window tabs for a snugger fit. The plastic tabs are concealed and otherwise clear.

We'll see.

Before installing my ACE Engineering Rock Rails, I added a little mesh to the underside of them to close off the opening in the hopes it would block gravel from pummeling my Jeep.

I used this material (1 piece cut in half fits 1 side):
https://www.lowes.com/pd/Hillman-12-in-x-2-ft-Cold-Rolled-Weldable-Steel-Expanded-Sheet/3051815

And cut it like this...

This is the underside. Painted them with undercoating:

This is the top side:

I used #8 x 5/8" self-drilled metal screws and #8 flat washers to attach the expanded metal to the steps.

How are these holding up? Now that you have had them for several months how effective do you feel they are at preventing rocks from hitting your paint? I think this a great idea, I'm just a bit hesitant to put holes in my new Ace Sliders.

Quite honestly, they didn't help. Because of the way the ACE Sliders angle in the front, they didn't help as much as I had hoped. I am still glad I done it because it looks different. They expanded metal is holding up well and haven't had any issues...that I can tell anyway but I haven't looked real close lately.

I ended up putting mudflaps on my Jeep. I know someone sells mudflaps that fits the Rubicon with the Rock Rails (https://rokblokz.com/collections/jeep-mud-flaps) but I didn't go that way. You can't really tell from these photos but here are the Mudflaps I put on: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002MA588/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1: I bought 2 sets of them and used the existing holes on front (there is a brace behind the fender) and a self-tapping screw into the end cap of the rock rails. The back was installed using the existing holes for the filler piece at the bumper. If you are interested, I can take better pictures tonight and post. Just let me know. (I basically just rigged them up.) Now...these helped keep stuff off my Jeep!!!
