Appears ChatGPT doesn't care about facts, as it can make them up and then cite them:
ChatGPT made up research claiming guns aren't harmful to kids. How far will we let AI go? (msn.com)

"There are of course limitations, and OpenAI openly admits they are similar to those found in earlier versions of its language models. GPT-4 can and will "hallucinate" facts and make errors in reasoning. Social biases remain, and work is ongoing to better deal with adversarial prompts. It can be "confidently wrong in its predictions" and lacks knowledge on events that occurred after Sept. 2021 because that is its training data cut off point. With all than in mind, OpenAI's advice is to not rely on GPT-4 "in high-stakes contexts." - GPT-4 Offers Human-Level Performance, Hallucinations, and Better Bing Results | PCMag

GIGO, but if it's not just about human garbage inputs, but garbage inputs that it can create on its own; it just means more garbage in, which means more garbage out.

Which would be the same as a human :) We're only as smart as the data we've absorbed and processed.
Yup, you’re right but it’s a lot more effort to spit out what appears factual and have it look legitimate when you’re human vs bot. Probably.

ChatGPT also recommends the following as topics in this very forum that are sure to get lots of responses:
  1. "What's the most extreme off-road trail you've taken your JL Wrangler on, and how did it perform?" - This question could generate a lot of responses from Jeep owners who love to take their vehicles off-road and push them to their limits.
  2. "What's the most unusual modification you've made to your JL Wrangler, and why did you do it?" - This question could spark a lot of creativity and inspiration among forum members, as people share their unique modifications and the reasons behind them.
  3. "Have you ever used your JL Wrangler to help someone in need, and what was the situation?" - This question could generate heartwarming stories of Jeep owners using their vehicles to assist others in emergency or difficult situations.
  4. "What's the most important lesson you've learned from owning a JL Wrangler?" - This question could generate a wide variety of responses, as people reflect on the joys and challenges of owning a Jeep and share the valuable lessons they've learned along the way.
  5. "If you could design a custom JL Wrangler from scratch, what features would you include?" - This question could generate a lot of interesting and creative ideas, as people share their dream features and specifications for the ultimate Jeep Wrangler.

chat gpt can tell you which gears to use, the benefits of regearing, and exactly how to regear your jeep but is absolutely stunned when you ask the very simple question, "What is a woman?"

Um, haven't each and every one of those been asked multiple times? Asking for a friend.

Um, haven't each and every one of those been asked multiple times? Asking for a friend.
They asked ChatGPT directly what they have done, not what has been done to other vehicles.

I did ask it what our more common threads might look like, and it shot back with these thread topic gems:
  1. Best lift kit for the Wrangler JL
  2. Tire recommendations for 35" tires on stock wheels
  3. Post your favorite off-roading pics and stories
  4. Dyno test results - performance upgrades
  5. Customizing the Wrangler's interior
  6. Jeep Wrangler maintenance checklist
  7. Best winch for the Wrangler
  8. Favorite off-roading accessories
  9. Rear-end clunking noise - anyone else experiencing this issue?
  10. 2024 Wrangler JL rumors - what do we know so far?

I'm a big believer in the benefits of technological advancement, just as long as it doesn't entail the entrance of something higher than us on the food chain.

A friend of mine built industrial (and other) robots his whole life. He tells me Skynet is real. :)
