Changing front bumper but not rear (Rampage Rock)

Hi there anyone have opinions or experience with changing a front plastic Sahara bumper for steel with a winch and leaving the rear?

Any weight displacement issues?
Anyone do this with the Rampage Rock front bumper?

Probably not that much of an issue. That plastic bumper has a steel support so the weight difference in minimal. I plan to pull the plastic bumper off my JLUR for a Smitty and not change out the back bumper.

I ran a steel front and plastic rear on my 20 JLUR for over a year with no perceived visible or mechanical impact.

The stock plastic front bumper is only around 35lbs.
No issue running just a front aftermarket with plastic rear. I have ran that setup and used a hitch skid plate for steep departure angles

Left my plastic on the rear and also decided my hitch can eat departure angle issues. Aside from being able to jack from bumper, I couldn’t justify the cost or weight of moving to steel in the rear. I’ll just replace it if/when it gets trashed.

My 21 freedom edition came stock with front steel rubi bumper and plastic rear bumper. So yes, ok.

Only thing to consider about replacing plastic with steel bumper and winch up front (and no additional weight to back) is you might add some front rake to the vehicle. But if that happens, nothing a 1/2 inch spacer wouldn’t fix.

I put on the Rampage Rock Rage bumper a couple months ago. So far, it's been great; easy install. Swap fog lights over from plastic one and then bolt on to the Jeep. Has built in winch plate as well; winch install was super easy.

Also, I ordered directly from Rampage in September. Bumper didn't get delivered until late November.... supply chain, COVID, blah blah, etc. Worth the wait, though.
