Center Console - Rubber Insert

Does anyone have experience with removing the center console's rubber insert in order to clean it as well as securing it back to the center console? I removed one side of it but I am having difficulty securing it back.

Is there an easy way to do this?

I don’t think it’s supposed to come out but could be wrong, I tried to remove mine without damage but after a few tugs I gave up as I did not want to damage it so now I just wipe it out with a damp cloth, maybe there will be an aftermarket insert soon.

While it isn’t designed to be removed, there is probably someone who has. And, it will probably mean removing that entire assembly.
