Removing the center console is one of the easier DIY tasks involving our JL's.
There are 4 bolts under 4 plastic covers. The following pictures highlight the process, including how to remove the 4WD Shift Handle. The round covers are in the front, the square ones are in the back (accessible after pulling both seats forward).
The frame around the 4WD handle simply pops off, as it's secured by body clips.
Tools: 10mm Socket for the 4 Bolts and a T-25 Torx for the gear shift handle.
PS: There's no reason to remove the 4 small Torx screws on the ball of the handle.
