I tried a few small retaining washers and press on caps but they either didn't fit or I was too fumble fingered to get them in place. I said lots of bad words.
If they got a bad batch of center consoles the same time Mojitos were going through, maybe its possible. I don't remember about the 2018s having this issue, but I could be wrong.Maybe it's a Mojito thing...
I'm not opposed to trying to fix it myself, but I also don't want to hear from the dealer that I broke it if the fix doesn't hold.
I understand the feeling. I had read that the fix was a new center console cover/armrest and I thought that was quite a waste of warranty repair so I just did it myself.
First time it happened was on the day after I brought it home. Was thinking about going back to dealer and having them deal with it, but it was an easy enough fix (although annoying).
I may just call the dealer and report the problem, and see if then try to fix it myself. No need to have them do anything if I fix it. They may also be familiar with the problem and not need to replace the center console.
I am unsure of the actual build date, I know the projected ship date was 11/25, and it got to my dealer in Eastern Pennsylvania on 11/30, so our build dates should be very close, if not the same.
