Has anyone experienced the issue described at 4:12 during this video by consumer reports?

Yup, I just witnessed it today. Every time the engine shuts down, there is a loud distorted buzz. Once the engine turns back on, no buzz sound. It was annoying, especially if you're playing loud music. Had to turn the auto start/stop off...

Is this common to vehicles equipped with auto start stop?

Not an issue in ours with either mine or my wife’s phone, and I must say the auto start stop is actually very good, I figured Id hate it and turn it off..but it’s no hassle at all.

Not worried about it. I will be disabling the Start/Stop on the first day I have it. Dumbest idea ever for something that increases wear and tear on the engine and has almost zero impact on fuel economy.

Can you disable it permanently ?

Without programming of some kind no, you have to hit the button every time.... honestly they over build the wear parts, this isn’t new technology but some of the older systems were kind of a pain, I was expecting the same in the JL... I was wrong... it’s very nicely integrated and you really should drive it for a few days before you worry about it.

Yep, you can wire the trailer wires to fool it into thinking a trailer is connected, which disables it. Or just plug a trailer wiring harness tester in and it disables it...

I had my phone plugged through the USB-C port. I will be testing regular USB and Aux later...

Have never heard any buzzing on bluetooth or direct connection. Now have developed the habit to push 2 buttons to start the Jeep: the start button then the "Auto Stop" button. This will work until I disable it permanently.

So, to be clear, this occurs when the phone is connected via bluetooth AND usb-c?
