Just another Cobra 75 instal. It was easy. It took about an hour from beginning to end.

So, I did some research and test fitting with my old CB bar from my TJ. It will fit across the span of the roll bar but i can't just straight bolt it to the door surround holes because the bar interferes with the freedom top latches. I've been slowly working on a solution. I have all of my parts cut and drilled and ready to bolt up, just haven't had the time to paint and install. IF anyone is interested in the install I can probably snap some pics and do a quick write up when I do get a chance.
This is my setup.

It took about two hours to run the antenna wiring and get the CB hooked up.

Thanks @Mud2Sno - Is that a custom home made set up, or a kit? Also: Do you have any pics from the top with the freedom panels off? As it turns out, my solution won't work without some major pain in the ass modifications (cutting and welding) to the CB bar and I really don't feel like doing that (not worth it, still won't work like i really want it) so I'm trying to either come up with another possible solution OR scrap the whole thing and start from scratch. So, I'm looking for ideas right now. The main problem is the bolts from the spacer arms won't clear my hard top panels, and they would likely interfere with my softtop door surrounds as well. Thanks in advance.

It is a custom setup I made and it clears the freedom top latches, not sure about soft top clearance

Finally finished mine! I’ll have to do a write up with more pics at some point if anyone is interested. I already had the steel tubing from my previous mount so it cost me $23 and a grinder wheel.

Here, you can see how low it hangs. mirror is still useable. I tuck the mic cable up top when I'm driving.

Overview, with panels out. I'll try to post soft top pics once i get that on.

RM 203P installed in glove box and wired to Aux 2 right above the radio. 100W linear and 26db pre-amp. They are independently switched so I can just run the pre-amp. Which I do because it is illegal to run over 4W on the CB band unless running SSB. I did measure the amp and it puts out 80-95W across the band.

Yet another Cobra 75 install with a few twists.

The Cobra has a really small speaker and is hard to hear sometimes, so I added a device that takes the CB output and routes it to one of your audio system speakers (I choose the left front); when there is output from the CB, the device mutes the normal audio output in favor of the CB output. I used Aux 4 to turn the device on and off.

I also run trails with several different groups, some run CBs, others run FRS, so to use this device with both types of radios, I routed a 3.5 mm audio cable extension from the CB’s external speaker jack to my center console, ran another extension cable back to the device, I can now disconnect the second audio cable at the console and plug it into the FRS radio.

Finally, my phone mount is magnetic, so I added a metal mounting plate to the back of the Cobra unit and make use of the phone mount for the Cobra (I only install the Cobra when I’m going to use it).

That’s the setup I’m looking for! I have a Uniden bearcat 880 and am not a big fan of the small handheld units. Doesn’t look like you used anything special? You have a write up?
