Hey @CavFab_mfg what is the point of the tailgate stop you built into the hinge? Doesn’t the jeep already have a stop in the inside or does that one have to be removed?

So, the built in stop on the hinge is more of an "oh shit" stop.
-parked on a hill and you lose grip while opening it, windy, etc.

but if youre a slam stuff around kinda person, its made for that too

Ya, my point exactly. Hopefully it isn't such a shit show to cross the border soon, I can just get it sent to a UPS store in NY. I don't mind paying duty but the UPS "brokerage" is literally legal theft.

On a side note, if CavFab is willing, there is a way to avoid duty as well with a form stating that the item is in fact made in the USA. NAFTA gave us that option at least.

Your link isn't working FYI. I love the Ultra Clearance Rear Bumper. The bumper will most likely be my first mod when I pick up my Rubicon in about 10 days. This tire carrier looks awesome BTW. Definitely on the short list when I lift the Jeep in a few months.

It would’ve been nice to see a rubber bumper or something for the stop vs metal on sharp metal corner to help the powder coat or paint from getting all destroyed too. Not a big deal, but would be a nice revision

FYI, I just received mine yesterday. There is a large sticker on the package that says "Made in the USA" and I wasn't charged duty. I was charged $98 brokerage feels and then GST + PST.

Interesting. And UPS didn't make you pay the duty when you paid brokerage? Never had that happen to me on big ticket items.
