Last week we went exploring a cave, and it turned out to be an incredible experience. We looked up some information afterward and learned that caves like this are usually formed in limestone through long-term erosion by underground water, creating what’s known as a karst cave. The process can take tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of years, which honestly blew our minds.
The cave itself was very humid, with water constantly dripping from above. The droplets you see in the photos aren’t rain, it’s water seeping through the rock over time.
There were also a few unexpected moments along the way. We almost got lost while trying to find the cave, and of course there was no cell signal out there. Thankfully we managed to retrace our route and make it back safely. Definitely a close call, but also part of the adventure.
