I understand the locking diffs etc, but when the rubi is in 4hi and nothing is locked, does it have traction control like you would find on most vehicles? example is the tacomas have traction control where brakes are applied to wheels that slip and power moved to wheels with grip along with throttle adjustments?

Yes they all have electronic traction control regardless of trim level....the Sahara with the Selec-Trac is the only exception (yes it still has traction control, but it adds in the limited slip rear diff)

Edit: and I believe the Sport S also has a LSD upgrade, it just doesnt get the full on Selec-Trac system like the Sahara

In short all trims regardless of options have ESC/TC (Electronic Stability Control/Traction Control)

Also has brake limited differential (BLD) which acts like a limited slip diff.
