They have started building and delivering Gobi's... just saw my JLUR with MT at the dealer yesterday!

Great looking Jeep. I really like the black top with Gobi. I’m getting SOT and I’m worried it’s too much beige. I may have the top wrapped black later. Wife may object, she loves beige. We called her last car the Beige Beast because it was beige on beige on beige.

Gobi can be ordered through June and will be built as 2022s until the switchover to 2023. I don't think they'll make 2023s in Gobi

I spotted a gobi colored 4-Door Rubicon exactly like the one pictured above on a transporter here in Denver a couple days ago, so yeah, they're out of the factory and in at least one case have made it west.

My question was can Gobi be built in the 2023 model year? I'm not saying your wrong with what you said. You are right. But I'm wondering if they don't get to my build in time can it switch over to a 2023 like what the 2021 orders are dealing with? Or would the limited color run be priority and would definitely be built as a 2022 before they open the factory for the 2023s?

I never ordered a limit color like this. So I just didn't know how Jeep works? If these colors take priority or not?
If you ordered a Gobi, you will get a Gobi. Whether it will by a MY22 or MY23 will depend when all the parts are available to move your build in to production.

'23 order bank opens June 15 and they will likely start '23 production in Sept. Once they start '23 production, any '22 orders not started yet will be converted to '23. Those '22 orders in mid-build will be completed as MY22s. It makes no sense for Jeep to produce two model years concurrently.

Limited Edition color shouldn't be impacted by the MY transition. I had a '21 LE Tuscadero converted to '22 last year even after they closed the order bank for Tuscadero.

Not sure. I saw some people ordered in Nov and still waiting. Don't know if that's a 2021 or 22. Either way that's a long time. Especially with the 2023s order banks opening up June 15th.
People who ordered in Nov were ordering 2022s. 2021 ordering closed in early Oct.

The way the new paint lines are set up, they can start up a different color fairly quickly. It's not like the old system where you have to set up one color, run it for as long as you can, and clean up to changeover. Jeep has produced Gobi before so there's little to no testing or calibration needed.

They started producing High Velocity Yellow within a few days of opening the order bank. I suspect some of the early HVs were for press pool, market events/car shows and random recipients to generate buzz.
