Quick question - I need to regear my rear, and want to self-install the front UD44 axle coming in. Is it safe to have a shop regear the back and either leave it in 2WD with the FAD disconnected or pull the front driveshaft for a couple days until we get the new axle under the Jeep? Will it matter if the computer isn't reprogrammed for the new gearing just yet?
It seems like this would be fine since the front axle isn't connected to the Tcase unless 4x4 is engaged, but I want to be sure.
