I ordered my Rubicon 4dr feb 12th .
after 9 months of waiting the dealer told me my jeep would be a 2022.
This leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
My question is for people who work for a dealership or know for a fact that dealers could sell my factory ordered jeep to someone else?
They could easily get 10 grand more than what I paid.
I only got a von# from the dealer.

Jeep chat should be able to match VON with VIN.

It actually depends on the representative you talk, some are kind and provide the info. Just retry couple hours later if one says no

There is no law, rule, or regulation that says a dealer even has to sell you anything at all, off the lot, or specially ordered, unless you put a down payment on it.
Even if you put a down payment on it you would have to be able to prove that your ordered vehicle came in to the lot and was sold to someone else. That's a pretty difficult undertaking considering the dealer has all the paperwork. However, if you are 99% certain you are right, you might be able to convince a judge to issue a civil search warrant so you can examine the dealers books. On the other hand you have to ask yourself if it's worth all that trouble.
Honestly, just buy from a better dealer.

I was in a similar situation, my order got bumped from a MY21 after 8 months to a MY22. Alot of the delays have been caused by shortages in a couple of option packages, mainly LED lighting and cold weather package, but like Sanchese I believe alot has to do with market conditions (high demand) and what incentives were offered by FCA at the time. In my case I did not want to lose my FCA incentives - which I understand are not guaranteed on a MY22 build - and my dealer was able to offer an incoming MY21 that does not have some of my options, but these I will source aftermarket. All very frustrating, but we are a small market segment compared to the US, and the profit margins here are not as great for FCA.

I know how you feel.
I am going to another dealer and get a 22 with all the options that I wanted.
