I have a 2021 Willys Wrangler 2 door. At about 10k the rear calipers "hung up" and needed servicing. The dealer warranted this repair out. Today my fronts have done the same thing, only this time I'm being quoted $850 for pads, rotors and hoses. I'm at 20600 miles today. I do wheel every other month average (green/blue trails, some mud) but I then meticulously clean the undercarriage. I lay on a crawler for hours and flush out any dirt/mud. I also clean the wheels/brakes. Has anyone else had this issue?? What good is a Jeep if you can't off-road it? And what good is a warranty? I understand brakes are a wear part, and subject to a lot of variables, but at 20K?!

Thx for any input!

I haven't done the brakes on my jeep yet, but I have done brakes on all of my other vehicles over the years. It sounds like a maintenance issue rather than pads and rotors UNLESS your brake piston is sticking, or your caliper just needs a little grease to help it slide in it's slot. Either way, not a big deal. In fact, if you can take your calipers off it is way way cheaper to get your rotors skimmed and put new pads in than having anyone else do that work. Lat time I think I paid $60.00 to have 2 rotors skimmed and $125?? for for top of the line carbon brake pads. Easy peasy.

I would pull the calipers and determine exactly what is sticking. Rust on the pins? Gunk in the piston seals? Then decide what to do.
