not a jeep dealer, but I was called a "grinder" by a ford dealer when I tried to get them to reprice based on an add-on that wasn't agreed upon. Apparently that is a known industry term. I'm a grinder.
😅 I’ve been called worse than that at some dealers.
Not if it's the APP related......🤣

I love remote start. Hot day start it up to cool the cabin down, cold day warm it up.

Thanks - do any of you have the convenience group, and is it useful to you?

I like it. I use the homelink everyday and I use remote start when it is very cold or hot. Glad I have it.

I live in Western PA and have had a Remote Start for most of the last 20 years. I wouldn't ever buy a vehicle without it.

In the name of GOD (Biden Quote) why would you preheat a jeep. I hit mine up to get that 140 degree cabin down and cool off the stearing wheel so I don't need oven mitts to drive!. That's the real use for remote start if you live in Arizona!
Well you would preheat a jeep if it's 15 degrees and snowy lol

My father has an app on his phone for his Tesla and loves it... he can be anywhere in the world and he can heat it up, cool it down, and many other things.

Buying off the lot next week - dealer has a jeep that has everything I want, but has the convenience group included.

The convenience group is just the garage door opener + remote start, correct? I'm assuming the answer is no, but can I ask them to remove the convenience group and lower the price? I do not have a garage and remote starting doesn't seem to have much appeal to me.
You serious Clark?

Absolutely! Snowy days - remote start to preheat. 90+ days - remote start to pre-chill. Garage door opener works from farther out than the fobs that came with my opener, and doesn't leave the annoying clip mark that the fobs do. Really though, in my personal the remote start is totally worth it by itself especially because it is just a button on the FOB that has no subscription or app requirement, it just works.

Nope! If you want something specific, you’ll need to have the dealership order it for you.

Be aware that the remote start function is only free for the first year. It is part of the UConnect Remote Services package and will cost ~$150 a year after the first year.

Neither my 18 or 21 cost additional subscription and if my 22 does I'll sue.

I have used the remote start nearly daily during the winter months. I'm glad to hear the GD remote buttons work well, as I don't have a garage, but we just added a powered gate opener and the remote is a POS. I will be programming that thing ASAP.

I have both the remote start and garage door opener. I use the garage door opener multiple times during the days and I have not used the remote start but only a couple of times.

Never thought I'd use the remote start, but these hot days I have no problem hitting the button on my way to the Jeep to start it and get the A/C running. Occasionally I would use it during the winter, but not as often.

Rod

ps if it has proximity opening you will be spoiled very soon with it and will miss it a lot if you get one without later. rl

Yes, I have it and I love it! Northeast Ohio winters get COLD sometimes, and the remote start is great. Built in garage door opener is a plus also.

The remote start in the convenience package is free...forever.
