Buying off the lot next week - dealer has a jeep that has everything I want, but has the convenience group included.

The convenience group is just the garage door opener + remote start, correct? I'm assuming the answer is no, but can I ask them to remove the convenience group and lower the price? I do not have a garage and remote starting doesn't seem to have much appeal to me.

You can try to negotiate it off with the explanation that’s it does not bring value for you. That said new jeeps on lots are scarce so they may refuse.

Always worth asking- you don’t get everything you don’t ask for.

Thanks - do any of you have the convenience group, and is it useful to you?

Remote start is nice if you want to warm it up a little before going outside and jumping in (since gas is so cheap 😂 ). It's less than 1.5% of the total cost so I wouldn't sweat it too much.

Yeah I am appreciating the remote start. Never had that before. I took delivery in March but I know it will be huge next winter! The heat comes on along with steering wheel and seats if you have that.

I would use the garage door buttons if I could actually fit my Jeep in my garage turned shop.

Remote start is great if you live in areas with cold winters.

The automatic climate control, and the steering wheel and driver seat heaters come on automatically when the outside temperature drops below 40ºF.

It is for me. I have a garage and a garage door opener, so not having to keep a separate unit clipped to the visor is nice. Plus there's no garage door opener for some lowlife to steal either, and unlike my F-150, the one in the Wrangler goes off when the vehicle is off.

Remote start is nice if you live somewhere where it gets cold and you are within remote start range. I could remote start mine at work from inside, which was pretty nice.

In the name of GOD (Biden Quote) why would you preheat a jeep. I hit mine up to get that 140 degree cabin down and cool off the stearing wheel so I don't need oven mitts to drive!. That's the real use for remote start if you live in Arizona!

Be aware that the remote start function is only free for the first year. It is part of the UConnect Remote Services package and will cost ~$150 a year after the first year.
