Hysterical article - still laughing.

Owner should have fought that. Bad speed laser! No way a Jeep is going 105+.
While an expert could testify that there was no way he could have been going that fast in a Jeep, that pesky Field Sobriety test was still a problem.

Prepare ship for ludicrous speed! Fasten all seatbelts, seal all entrances and exits, close all shops in the mall, cancel the three ring circus, secure all animals in the zoo!

Probably nobody has done this. You won't hit 99 MPH. JLs are electronically limited to 97. If you smashed the accelerator pedal at or above 97 it will just be ignored. It will be a big nothingburger.

That's probably a good thing too. A JL is definitely not the right vehicle for doing triple digit speeds.
I'm gonna make sure mine hits 110. Speed is relative, 110 in a Jeep will be far more of a thrill ride than 160 in a Vette.

Don't remember seeing this in the number 7 thread.

I’m still impressed on how quick my 2DR Rubicon is with the 3.6L E-torque!

Retired from Corrections....I have stories.
Just for perspective, you shift out of 1st gear at 102 mph on a newer ZX10 Ninja. It will still pull the front wheel off the ground at 140+ mph with the wheelie control turned off.

Just saying if you want speed, The Jeep does not even break into the top 40 vehicle that I want to go fast in. My favorite speed in the Jeep is under 20 mph on a trail or cruising around town naked at 35 to 40 mph with the radio rocking some good tunes. I don't think I have ever said wow this is fun driving fast.

the 392 cuts off right at 95-96 on the 33s. Tried in manual, tried in off road mode and nothing. Red jeep will cruise at 130 with no issues and 1 finger on the wheel if you want to.

It is limited to the 33” KO2 max speed rating.

I have had my 08 JK north of a 100 a few times on 37's. handles pretty good for what it is. It wont beat my 392 to 90 but it will run it down and that's kind of hilarious to me since it has a mini van motor in it.

At some point when I get time I plan to take it up to the local dyno shop. Run it on the dyno here at sea level just for fun to see what it does and probably have them delete the speed limiter all together.

Ive taken my stock 2016 JKU Sahara to 108mph, and my stock 2021 JLU 80th to 102mph. The digital speedo keeps going. There is a function on the radio that records top speed. I will try to look for it and take a pic. It actually smooths out and levels out in the high 80s.
