Hey all. I have an RC coil spacer lift from last summer which for the most part is working out. I would like to slowly add better parts beginning with springs and shocks. If I want to keep 2.5 lift height as the end game will this work or cause issues?

Thinking of adding Falcon shocks with a spring that can handle a little more weight than stock.

What do you all think?

You can easily purchase an inexpensive spring and coil lift for a 2.5". That's a good number without having to go overboard on additional suspension parts. There are a good budget style lifts if you are trying to save. Most of the budget kits come with pretty much everything you need to get you up and running with the ability to add later.

Shocks choices will be based on your ride preference.

Metal cloak is always a great choice but really want a dual spring rate coil. Most importantly, by a spring/shock combo designed to work together, from one company. Arguably the most important part to maintain a quality ride is matching springs rates with shock valving

So if I do Falcon the best springs would be Tflex?

We’re happy with our MC game changer with rock sport shocks. They aren’t fancy shock by any means but designed and valved to the MC springs. Haven’t been disappointed with their performance at all.

Fixing to place a relatively big order for 3 MC lifts. Let me know and I can probably get you free shipping atleast which would save you about $200. Can get you the hook up on install if you’d need it too

I’d have to assume teraflex valved them that way but probably best to ask them.

I wrote this on a post about pairing shocks with a Metal Cloak lift but it applies here too:
Different types of springs (multi-rate versus linear) work differently with certain shock valving styles. Falcon is a Digressive while Fox and King are Linear. Same reason why a Bilstein shock may not work well with that kit, but they work perfectly fine with others.

Having adjusters (like with the Falcon 3.3 Series) will definitely help, but a non-adjustable digressive shock is going to to require some changes to the internal valving to make it work right with that setup. Proof of this is ICON being able to run their Digressive shocks on their kits with great results, because they designed their shocks in conjunction with their own kits.
So you dont necessarily have to buy shocks from the same company that makes the springs, but it helps to know what variables you are dealing with.

The quick resolution is, do not pair Digressive shocks with a multi-rate spring unless the shocks are valved by that company, and Linear valved shocks work with just about any kit.

Also, since you already have a spacer lift on this vehicle, you can easily swap out things like Springs and Shocks without having to change anything. I would recommend starting with coils if you are planning to carry more weight, and yes Teraflex does great for load carrying, while MetalCloak and ICON who make multi-rates front and rear are great for ride, they dont carry load the same.

Thanks Brett. I am not in the market for the full kit at this time so I would be out on this one. Looking to do springs and shocks and then add on from there.
