Found this interesting: yesterday I could go into Jeep's website and build an Unlimited JK. Now, the option to do so isn't even there: https://www.jeep.com/en/lineup/?app=bmo&. Now, it just gives the option of "2017 Wrangler JK".

Yes, but it isn't under the Build section anymore and not an option for Build.

I talked to a dealer yesterday who said they are starting to get 18 JK's in, so maybe they are getting ready to convert to the 18 build and price, because as several people have pointed out, that is more of a marketing tool for people to find a vehicle already on a lot, as opposed to hardcore types actually looking to build and order.

and I think I mentioned this recently on another thread, the build and price tool itself has changed in the past couple of weeks, different layout, different way of building, etc. So they seem to be redoing the whole thing, which could lead to some hiccups along the way

if you put 2017 in the url, then the 2017 JK shows up, if you put 2018 then the 2018 jk shows up....if you put 2019, half the page loads lol

Yeah...the pic shows JK but playing with the filter to make sure 4 door is selected (will still show the JK). Hope link works...

*Some web dev did a bad job. Im sure it will be fixed. Also laughs on getting the 2018 list, sadly nothing juicy. Though I am positive the JL will be listed as a 2019.

Navigation works fine for me now on build and price.

Very much doubt the JL/JLU will be only listed as 2019. I guess maybe if they don't make a 2 door JL for 2018... guess we'll see.

At this point, anything after 1/1/18 could be a 2019? That's what happened with the 1997 TJs sold in January 1996.

I was on it the other day and was still able to build a 2017 JKU and all. Meanwhile all the other non-JK models had both the 2017 and 2018 tabs. The JKs just had 2017.

Just went on and now see just a "2017 JK" available. That's new. Was always the "Wrangler" before. No JKU either for me.

When I click on it - I go to the pick which JKU page...

Believe it's already been stated by reliable sources that 2018 JK's will be produced until or through March of 2018 as 2018 MY. As far as JLs are concerned, I would anticipate that any JL/JLUs built up until the fall of 2018 will be 2018's, and those from fall (either early fall, or mid fall) will be 2019's.

That said, anything can happen, but this seems to be the MY numbering that Jeep has been doing for some time now. Can't speak to the mid 90's, but things have changed since then. Certainly new model intros can change things, but I don't think anyone is anticipating that here.

As far as the build pages, I click vehicles, and can select either Jeep Wrangler or Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. If you simply go to jeep.com and click build & price, that's where the 2017 Jeep JK shows up, as a two door. Click it, and it takes you to a four door build page. My guess, as others have pointed out, is some silly web developer made a mistake there =)
