I got out into the woods with some good dudes last weekend. It's amazing how capable these Rubis are in stock form... However, I did have some fender rubbing at full flex with the stock lift, -12 wheel offset and 315/70R17 KO2s... I can't decide whether to get new fenders, cut out the inner fender liners, or just live with it...

Pro tip: go off-roading with photographers, haha.

I got a little excited on Black Friday and put some orders in...
  • LoD Destroyer Shorty front bumper with bull bar, skid plate and fairlead mount (15% off)
  • Hyline JL Summit rear bumper (10% off)
  • Warn VR Evo 10s winch (10% off)
  • Factor 55 Flatlink E (10% off)
  • Smittybilt 3/4" d-ring shackles
  • Mopar Passive Entry Kit (30% off)

For the front bumper, I really wanted a "stubby" with a recessed winch, bull bar, round fog lights, and skid plate. I couldn't find a single one that fit my criteria and also matched the style I was going after... so, I wound up settling on a surface mount winch. My finalists were the LoD Destroyer Shorty and the Poison Spyder Crawler. I wound up getting the LoD because the textured finish matched the OEM plastic and the rear bumper that I'd been eyeballing. I did drill out the rivets and remove the gaudy LoD logo tho.

I was super impressed with the quality and packaging of the LoD. Digging this thing out of the box was like a damned treasure hunt. It arrived in pristine condition. Installing this thing made me wish that I would've gotten the LoD destroyer rock slider/steps over the ROAM sliders.

For the rear bumper, I went with the Hyline JL Summit. It's the best looking steel bumper I've seen that incorporates a license plate. And again, has the black textured finish that matches the OEM plastic and is super easy to touch up.

My only complaint about the Hyline is how little effort they put into the packaging. $3 worth of spray foam would've gone a long way here... I honestly can't believe that it arrived in the condition that it did with so little effort put into this packaging.

The Hyline looks super clean installed though.

Finally, the Winch.

I realize it's not a Zeon and folks will probably scoff at that, but it fits the bill for me. Yeah, it's made in China, but it's built with supervision from Warn and tested in the US. It's IP68 rated, has a clean design, and has the same warranty as the Zeon. I'm sure it'll be fine.

My only complaint about the Evo series winch is the way the wires are run across the back. I adjusted them all and did a little zip-tie trick to clean em all up... which turned out fairly clean, but I wish they weren't all exposed.

And the Factor-55 shackle... I sorta wish I would've gone with black or gray, but this thing really is a work of art.

We got 8” of snow in Des Moines yesterday and I spent hours tromping around in it.

Also, I can’t decide whether to get Baja Designs amber fogs or keep these OEM LED dudes.

Just finished up a couple more small projects.

1. Passive entry system - with many, many thanks to @AllMoparParts.com and Z-automotive. The install was straight forward and is sooo much more convenient.

2. @BajaDesigns Squadron Sport Cowl / A-Pillar / ditch lights. I bought the JL kit with the mounts, and it was another, super straight forward install... These lights are such high quality. I want more.

My next big accessory: a squaredrop camper. I've got one on order from Vintage Trailer Works and should be picking it up within the next couple months. Can't wait!

Oh, I also got ducked for the first time.

And, am I doing this suburban snow pile thing right???
