Hi all! I have a JT but figured I’d ask the JL group since not many people have done the Aux switch install on JT yet. While snaking my wires through the grommet on the passenger side I damaged the wires on my harness (the orange one that plugs into the grey module/socket on the passenger side, and similar connectors that plug into the aux switch module). Does anyone know where to get replacement terminal connectors?

thanks!

And yes I know the aux switch option is a must have, stupid mistake on my part.

If you look around there are a few threads about the Aux install. A few have gone around and not used the grey module/socket and just spliced the new orange wire directly into the existing orange wire .

I considered tapping but I broke the orange wire connector and a couple of the others (the ones used for the plug). I didn’t see any posts of anyone replacing the terminals, am I missing the post?
Tia!

honistly you could just snip the wire directly across on the connector and solder it or run a spade terminal so its still removable. on the main note did the grey connector actually break? sometimes those little terminals pop out and you can just reinsert them and it works out just fine. other wise you'll need to pull each pin out and replace them into a new connector head. one wire at a time

Ok, for future reference i think i figured it out. I got the technical documents for one of the components from the Aux Install switch kit -- Molex 334710201 (https://www.molex.com/molex/products/datasheet.jsp?part=active/0334710201_CRIMP_HOUSINGS.xml). In the technical documents it says that the terminal number is 330122001 (https://www.molex.com/molex/products/datasheet.jsp?part=active/0330122001_CRIMP_TERMINALS.xml). Search for the part yielded a bunch of retailers: https://octopart.com/33012-2001-molex-7665045#

i am going to order and confirm here if this is the right solution, but it looks like it.https://octopart.com/33012-2001-molex-7665045#

It is very difficult to fix those connectors. As everyone else mentioned, it is much easier to cut off connectors and director solder orange wire together.

Is there something I am missing? I clip the old connector, attach the new connectors, and solder the wire to the new connector. This seems clean and OEM.

Agreed with you that it would be clean and looks OEM. But personally, I am not planning to ever disconnect or remove these aux switches in the future. The space is pretty tight, and this orange wires is too thin. I figure it would save me some time and frustration to bypass this connector altogether.

Auto parts store should have the connector. Mine broke on install too. The short orange wire, I just soldered. Then I used the cutoff connector at the switch plug. The kit should include a couple extra terminal ends...or a better way through the grommet.

I agree -- but i broke the orange connector and several of the others (the ones that go into the switch itself). So finding and installing new connectors seems like a necessary step for me. I get why you'd want to tap the orange if that's the only consideration.
