Bright White grille turning yellow

Is there some specific reason the Jeep has to be brought back to the 'selling dealer'? I ran into a Jeep warranty problem more than 20 years ago..Chrysler insisted that the work could only be done at the selling dealer...until I threatened to take the matter to my state Attorney's General office.

You are right. Should be able to take it to any Jeep dealer.

Yet another defect. (See the thread about the welds failing.) Glad I decided to wait a year or two before buying a JL.

I have a bright white JLU Rubi and yes the grille turned yellow. After I came home I glanced at it and I could not believe my eyes... I’m in the desert and it’s hot it will get up in the 120s this summer. It’s barely 90s and it has yellow all over the grill. See pics

Any word yet? What did the dealer do? I noticed a slight tint of yellow on the edge where the headlight is on mine also.

Yes. Went to the dealership. They reached out to "corporate" that's what the service manager said. They are willing to fix it. I am waiting on the details of what is involved with fixing. They said they want to keep the jeep for a couple days. I refused.

Most likely it will go to a body shop and they will touch it up. I refused to have it sit at a body shop where it will get worst or over spray all over the jeep from other vehicles.

I proposed to have a new grill already painted sent from the factory and have them uninstall mine and install the new one. Have not heard anything as of yet. That was last Friday.

Guys this is probably not what you want to hear, but I don’t know that there’s anything Jeep or your dealership can do to truly fix that problem. I had a similar issue in a vehicle I owned years ago, an 1996 Nissan Maxima. It wasn’t like this when the vehicle was so new like in your cases, but it got worse over time. It was white as well. The parts that were yellowing were the plastic/fiberglass parts and not the metal ones. In my specific case it was the trunk mounted spoiler which was very yellow compared to the body. I wish I knew a solution but I don’t. After it became noticeable I began to look at other white Maximas and they were the same way.

Hello group!
I have a bright white rubicon and I noticed my grille is turning yellow. The yellow may be due to heat or sun exposure but either way it shouldn’t happen especially within the three months I have had the new JL. Can anyone provide info or possible solutions? Thanks

Here's what my grille looks like. I also noticed that the drivers side fender is yellowing also. I just got back from my dealer that sold me my Jeep. The service guy took pics and is sending them to FCA to warranty it. He said they should send another grille and they'll repaint it. I asked if I could just keep it black, he said man that would look cool but they won't warranty it anymore if I keep it black. I said nook worries, it'd be better than turning yellow again.
Yeah, I'll just take my chances with the black unpainted grille.

@Man-of-methods , Yea I would push them to take the old grill and correct the painting if not get a new grill and install it.

My dealer said they will need to take it to a body shop and cannot replace the grill. I have submitted a complaint and waiting on someone higher up to contact me. @JeepCares Can you assist with this?

From what I been told it is all the plastic parts that is on the jeep. If it was another color it would be a different shade of color than the original color that is currently on it. Since it is white it turns yellow....

It's your choice. I love my Jeep, a little yellow isn't going to rain on my parade. My dealer is working with me and trying to make it right. You shouldn't be so quick to quit. Giving up and quitting was never a trait I acquired. To each their own though.
