Random question: I have a JLUR on order from Dealer A, but Dealer B is WAY closer to my home than Dealer A. If some post-delivery option arises, can I only go to Dealer A?
Between Dealer A and Dealer B , choose the most competent one . You might first look at the Yelp reviews to get an idea of how customer friendly each has been . While you are at it , check the Yelp reviews for Dealer C .

Hi, my name is Ethan with Jeep Customer Care, How may I help you today?
chatAgent.png
Ethan: Hello Tony how can I assist?
chatEndUserMessage.png
Tony Walker: my jl white rubicon front grill is turning yellow
chatEndUserMessage.png
Tony Walker: i should say my 60,000.00 dollar jeep grill is turning yellow
chatAgent.png
Ethan: I would have to recommend you go to a dealership to find out why this is happening. If you make an appoint at a dealership and contact us back we can get a case manager involved
chatEndUserMessage.png
Tony Walker: I was just told by jeep care on the forums to contact you and open a issue, but you say i must go to dealer first? this is funny because there are hundreds of complaints on the JL forums with this issue??
chatEndUserMessage.png
Tony Walker: so is this what jeep care does just pass the issue on to a dealership when you guys know this is and has been an ongoing issue for months?
chatAgent.png
Ethan: Well I would be unable to find out what is causing this from here so we do use our dealerships to find out what is going on then we can start to look into other options
chatEndUserMessage.png
Tony Walker: Im sure you have had numerous compalints on this issue correct? and im sure you huys already know what has caused it considering you have requested customers to send the grills back for testing?
chatEndUserMessage.png
Tony Walker: this is not a random issue so not sure why you say take to dealership so they can investigate it??
chatAgent.png
Ethan: This is personally the first time I am hearing about this and I am unable to determine what the cause is and at this time I can not say if we have a fix for it. This may not be a random issue but with out the dealership looking at it we are unable to assist.
chatEndUserMessage.png
Tony Walker: wow!! typical response i will screen shot this and post on the jl forums for the jeep care rep to see. thank you for taking my 60,000.00 dollars and giving my garbage quality

Has anyone asked if instead of ordering a new grille and painting it to color match (and maybe having the same issue again later), they can just substitute the black satin one (since I was thinking of getting one anyway)?
Yes, I did was told no. If they offer to paint a new grill, don’t leave your JEEP. They will try to blend the paint on to your hood.

This is the type of service you get from jeep care!!! wow
Not true.

You'll get it fixed and better service if perhaps you're not approaching in an antagonistic way. I, as well as others, have had this issue fixed. Jeep Cares and Jeep Customer Service have been very helpful to me and many others. You should consider that perhaps the Jeep Customer Care person is telling the truth. Not everyone knows that the white grille yellows with time and heat. Cut them some slack. The world doesn't revolve around you....At least that's the attitude you seem to have. Several of us posted what to do to take care of this problem. I suggest you read a little more....oh, and be a lot more understanding towards others. I'm sure you wouldn't like to be treated like that while you're at work when a customer calls you.

And I also seriously doubt you spent $60,000.

ya Im guessing that jeep care only got one complaint from you and it was fixed. My jeep is less than 2 months old and the grill is yellow so before you roll in here all high and mighty maybe take a second and realize how many issues there have been on all the forums not just this one and you sit there and try to tell me to be calm, and that jeep care knows nothing? are you serious? I spent 60k so I think I am entitled to act a little upset and do you think the conversation with jeep care would of been any different if i said please and thank you? please take my 60k and thank you for the garbage quality? Not everyone knows the jeep grill turns yellow? hmm then why is jeep requesting customers to send them back for testing? I suggest you you research the yellow issue a little more before ranting on about how FCA has no idea. And before you run off with the mouth about what I payed for my jeep the point is If i wanted the quality of a KIA I would of bought a KIA. Cut them some slack? really they have made jeeps since 1941 before i was even a thought and you say cut them some slack? why did they forget how to make a jeep when the JL came out?

I spent 60k
my 60k
$60K is way too much to spend for a Jeep . Did you buy it from "King Midas" dealer in Saudi Arabia ? He said : " For you , we raise the price to $60K , you no get refund , guaranteed ."

FCA says : "I give you grill , you paint , you install , you be happy , you no bother me no more ; I keep you $60K , you no get refund , guaranteed ."

I have an old Army Jeep grill which I may mount on the front of my JK for fun . Cost merely $50 . Get one for the fun . Good luck .

Included is a $10K charge for special happiness . The Jeep Wave is happy , unlike the german brands .

( I saw a line of mercedes owners in line for service , in the customer line , and Not One of them looked happy .)

I found that my not being a friggin asshole when dealing with the FCA Zone Rep and with the dealership General Manager was all that was needed. I never got JeepCares involved.

I just asked politely for them to stand by FCA's product..... this got them motivated to do the right thing in regard to my JL's yellowing grille.

In my case, they yanked a new, bright white grill off a newly arrived JL and replaced my JL's yellowing grill with it... sure, this grill will also probably turn yellow....

YES, I can be a real friggin asshole when necessary. I save asshole mode .....irate old asshole mode, just for times when it is in fact appropriate and absolutely necessary.

For sure, I would not waste AH mode on an employee that had absolutely, no power to do anything to remedy an issue..

I totally agree, AH mode is strictly for the ones that need it....I've found that it usually negates me getting what I want when I need it. However, there's a difference between AH mode and Jan Brady mode, and Jan Brady mode just makes a person sounds like a whiner throwing a temper tantrum. Marcia! Marcia! Marcia!

I have my service advisor eating out of the palm of my hand....It pays not to burn bridges.

Some people just don't get it though. You can't fix stupid. Case in point, he spent 60k on his Jeep. I spent 10k less than him on a loaded JLUR. I'm willing to bet I ordered more options than he did too.

Here's what I think would be the best way to get your yellowing grill issue resolved, with the current definition of resolved being getting a newly painted grill. First follow these instructions from @JeepCares; (@JeepCares, feel free to comment as necessary)

"We are sorry to hear that you have a concern with discoloration on your grille. Please send us a PM with your VIN and mileage so that we can provide further communication to the next steps to have this resolved."

This puts you in contact with people familiar with the problem. Then you should get a case number which you can refer to when you call the dealer about getting a warranty repair. The dealer and the case specialist can discuss how they want to resolve the issue. Digital photographs will be required, it would be great if you could take them yourself and send them to Jeepcares, instead of driving to the dealer for them to take pictures. I had to make a trip back to the dealer. At this point, the dealer can order and paint a replacement grill without you ever having to drive to the dealer. When the grill is finished, they can schedule a couple hours for you to come in and get the new grill installed. Just be sure to inspect the grill before it's installed, the first spray on mine looked terrible and had to be redone.

Be aware that the new paint on this grill may chip easier than the factory paint. Chips in a new grill will expose the black of the replacement grill. If they repaint your original grill, chips in the paint will expose the off white of the underlying original finish.

I just got a bright white JLR and I have 200 miles on it. I’m quite particular when it comes to flaws in my vehicle. Needless to say, I was not thrilled when coming upon this thread. I couldn’t take it waiting for my grille to yellow so I had a friend wrap my grille in matte black vinyl. I like how it turned it. I can always pull it off and do a warranty claim if/when they come up with a fix that’s better than painting my grille.

Looks great, keep an eye on the trim piece on the drivers side.

How do they transport the Jeeps to Hawaii ? In shipping containers on APL ships , I imagine ?

By the way , the garage door is not wide enough for the fenders .
