My JL Sport has bolt holes on the rear bars of the roll bar. Does anyone happen to know what size/thread works on these bolt holes? Thanks.

The holes on the back of the roll bars aren’t threaded. However, there are removable panels beside those holes which have two threaded holes. Those holes are the exact same thread as the ones that hold the hard top on. I believe they are 40mm.

Upon close inspection it is clear that they are not threaded. My sloppiness. I had hoped these provided mounting points but I was wrong. Thanks.

I assume you're referring to these (pictured below on my JLR). I just was about to ask the same "are they threaded" question ... I assume they fulfil some purpose - I was hoping to use them as an attachment point. Does anyone know what they are there for or if there is some kind of fastener that an be used with them?

Actually, I am referring to the outboard ones, as seen through the windows. They appear to have threads.

Also... look into possibly using a Nutsert® in each hole.

Oh, I'll have to have a look for those too, just looking for additional mounting points without having to drill anywhere :)

So I just had to Google them, but that looks like it might be an option! I just want to make sure I'm not doing anything with an opening that has an intended purpose that I might need in future. I only have a soft top so I'm not sure if these holes have anything to do with the hard top but I can't see how that would be possible. I'm new to the JeepLife so I want to do my homework first.

A Nutsert® would work. Also, you could even insert and glue a plastic/nylon dowel into the hole.

You then would just use a self tapping screw into the dowel.

There are many ways to take advantage of those holes.

Just found this thread. Was about to try and unscrew them. Did you find out if these are threaded or have any purpose ?
