The smoke thing is a wives tale.
Synthetic smokes blue just like conventional. Synthetics are still made from crude.
I have a $50k jeep burning some right now as proof and it can be googled and youtubed.
But this isnt an oil thread...more of a "why does my brand new jeep smoke at all?"
So what is your oil consumption rate? A quart a 1000 miles or more? Have you fouled a plug? Have you thrown a code? If soā€”which code?

Straight synthetic does not smoke and is not a wives tail unless you have a lying wife

Post a video of your issue. Think we would all like to see it. The way you describe it must resemble a mosquito fogger driving down the road. And if this were the case Chrysler would be jumping through hoops to buy it back just to tear it down for a reliability study.

Anybody smell Troll?

Consumption doesnt appear to be noticeable.
The jeep has never seen anything but synthetic 0w20. Did it with factory fill and i changed it at 2k with Mobil1.
No codes.

Either way. Its a light puff of blue smoke just as the engine comes to life and rpm settles. Typically after it sits overnight.

Ill update after it has 7 or 8k. Could just need a few more miles for break in. Never noticed it on my other older 3.6s with miles. One with 17k and one with 120k.

I appreciate your deep concern.

Interesting this was just posted. I have 8K miles and just yesterday, noticed some light blue smoke for about 20 seconds on startup. Itā€™s never happened before. I have stated it twice since and it hasnā€™t happened again. Will monitor.....
We understand this is rather concerning, Leights7. If you end up going into the dealer for an inspection, let us know. Our team can be contacted via direct message and would be happy to escalate to our Customer Care Team for further handling.

Noticed the blue smoke on startup today. Hadn't been driven in 2 days. 2,500 miles on the odometer. It's going in the dealer tomorrow for the new track bar and new console lid. I will mention it to them. I thought I saw it another time after being parked for a few hours, but I thought I was imagining things. Today confirmed it.

I installed a catch can, the amount of oil pushed into the intake by the PCV system on this engine is insane. I've collected close to 1/4 of a quart in about 800 miles. I do wheel up some pretty steep inclines on the weekends though.

Hello all! New to the forum. I recently purchased my first ever wrangler roughly 2 months ago, a 2018 punkn orange rubicon 6 speed with 45 miles on the clock. Iā€™m at roughly 6800 miles now, but if it has sat for 1 day or sometimes even less, blue smoke will pour out when it starts. Donā€™t get me wrong, I love this thing, But having this happen on top of smaller issues(unconnect freezing, loose/rattling speakers, loose/play in steering(every tire is at 37 psi), slightly rough idle sometimes, Iā€™m wondering if I should just trade it in and move on. Any help would be appreciated concerning the blue smoke. Iā€™ve searched the forum for the other issues! Thank you

did you check the oil level, I know some dealers have accidently put an extra quart in (JL takes 5 and jk 6)

My 2018 3.6 still does it every now & than after sitting overnight 13500 miles on it. Have checked the oil & see no problem w/usage. Strange.

i just had this happen today. 2023 Rubicon XR with 3.6L v6 with 5,000 on odometer.

was going to work and a nice puff of blue smoke right at startup. by the time i got my phone out of my pocket and hit record it was not really visible anymore.

it had done it once before when car had less than 1k miles but i chucked it up to my mind playing tricks.

did my own oil change with LiquiMoly full synthetic at 3,500 miles. this is unbelievable. dealer already replaced idler pulley on it last month under warranty.

I just noticed the smoke this morning..unreal...its all ready going to the dealership for the uconnect, where I know nothing is going to be founded or fixed, but at least its going to get documented right?? but what does that solve....now the smoke.. I did get an oil change there over a month ago, maybe an over fill??? those stories are all over the forum, amazing that the brands own dealerships are over filling at oil changes...Ive tried time and time again with my JLUR, for the 4 months I've had it, its been nothing but walking on egg shells and excuses, i never had that any of these problems or worries with my JKU sport, I was "never" on the forums looking up problems, I never questioned my steering or had squeaky brakes every day, or ever once lift the hood to pull fuses because of the radio...honestly I think were all screwed because jeep is fully dedicated to the gladiator, more worried about being best in class in the pick up world, and instead let their "bread winner" the actual "JEEP" take a back seat when it comes to priorities.. the jeep has been out two years now...but let the comments and the excuses come in..and my all time favorite (the ones who chime in with there 0 problems), that's cool just throw salt on the wounds to the rest of us....
I'm about to drive my jeep off a cliff with no seat belt on. 2019 jl 4 door rubicon, 18k miles minty clean, I've owned it all of 3 weeks and already had a fuel pump die on me, leaving me stranded in Washington, been to three alignment shops to fix the crap steering and right hand pull, only to find out jeep made a aluminum steering gear box that sucks and is a known problem (not known to any alignment shop though), and now I notice blue puff of smoke on start up. This is a 4 year old jeep, that was a 1 owner before me, clean garage kept and not abused with super low miles. I can't not fathom that I paid 47 thousand dollars for this pos.
