Just discovered that when driving on a narrow/ brushy trail where the blind spot monitor is constantly activated, you’ll get a message saying the BSM sensor is blocked and BSM is not functioning. The light on the mirror stays on (but maybe it could be turned off in Settings).

Maybe everybody knows this (and maybe it’s in the Manual somewhere), but I didn’t and I cleaned the sensors when I stopped to no avail!

Good question! It has been a while so I’m not sure. I started out in 4H and then went to 4L. I think it happened in both.

BSM went nuts on me too the night of 4th of July. Driving home on a two lane highway, going about 35-45mph (so definitely not 4L), passenger side was against the brush. All of the sudden the BSM said not available... or something like that.

Didn't know what to expect, but kept on driving. The lights in the mirrors were lit, but nothing else was effected. The next morning all was fine.

Never figured out what caused it, but I've driven that road a few times with no issues... it was a little rainy, damp and humid that night so that could have been it.

the same thing happens to me anytime I'm on the beach or going up the side of a mountain in 2H or 4H I have yet to use 4L none of my sensors were ever blocked or dirty.. the only way I have been able to get the warning triangles to go out was stop the Rubicon and shut the ignition off and than restart the vehicle..... little aggravating along with another issue I've been having nothing big but still aggravating..driving down the road with the ac system set to LO ON BOTH SIDES then out of nowhere the ac gives bursts of warm outside air and I hit the recirculate off & back on than it works again... well until it doesn't..#jeepcares

My blind spot monitoring did the same thing twice recently when I was on a narrow trail in 4 Auto. The only way to reset was to shut down and restart.

Had this issue with my 2020 JL Rubicon where the chime would go off and both BSW lights would come on. I was on dusty road but not that tight with brush. The first time I turned the Jeep off and wiped the dust off the sensor area, They both turned off when I restarted. The second time I kept driving and probably about 60 minutes later while driving highway speeds the lights just went off. I’m not sure what caused it or what cleared it. My JLURD only has 2300 miles on it.

I have a 2020 JLU also and any time I go through any area where there is brush or anything else close to the side of the jeep the warning indicator comes on. I figure that the sensor can't distinguish between a passing car and anything else. I am not sure how to disable the indicator. The BSW lights do eventually go out. The first time I thought it was weird, after that I just shrug it off.

Hi all,
Faced with same issue on my new Jeep JL Rubicon.

Any solution ? How I’m disabling it before off-roading ?

Whenever I get to a tight spot on the trail, be it rocks, trees or brush, the BSW light turns on. At first I was concerned about it. Now I ignore the light. Unlike some things in life, this goes away on its own.

Looks like we will need to ignore it :)
