There were a bunch of aftermarket kits that were available to just cap them, but I'm assuming Jeep sued those folks for trademark infringement as they've all seemed to disappear.
I'm planning to do the same, and have just resigned myself to the fact that it's going to be easier to remove the old, and just replace with black ones instead of trying to modify.

You have to do it on the vehicle. It’s a pain to take offCan anyone tell me the best way to blackout the chrome Jeep lettering? Does the lettering badge just pop right off and back on? Will plastidip do the trick or is there something better to use?

Maybe just consider getting some vinyl overlays off etsy?
Mine are not black outs but they have all colors. Takes about 10mins to install.

How difficult was this? We are getting a Hydro Blue Jeep. We’re auburn fans so we want to replace the red drop shadow Jeep emblem with an orange drop shadow one.Looks great! I bought the badges & changed them out.
