I’m wanting to buy a good bike rack for my Rubicon with the spare tire attached, but having trouble finding a quality rack. Anybody have any recommendations?

I hook mine under the back door so you can open door without unstrapping

Thank you for the input. I have been looking at these but leery of the reviews. Wanted to hear it from other owners on here before I made any decisions.

I bought the 1Up Super Duty Double rack for my JK Rubicon in 2015 along with the 2" Hitch Extender which allows me to fold up the rack flat against the spare wheel.

It fits on my 2020 JL Sahara except I can't open the tailgate because the spare wheel is now a couple of inches lower than on the JK. I'm in the market for a 2" dropper so I can open the tailgate.

The rear camera view will be crappy due to the rack and bikes and the rack will make the parking sensors go crazy, so I switch the sensors off when the rack is on.

Apart from that, I've been using the rack extensively and have no issues with it.

Mine works great no issues..I sold my expensive Yakima swing away hitch bike rack really heavy duty but a pain especially since I tow a boat.

See this thread.

Lots of good options with pics. I use the Quadratec 4 bike carrier that attaches to the hitch receiver and have been very happy with it. No need to remove the spare and you can access the cargo area when it’s folded down.

I've had the Quadratec 2 bike folding rack for a 2 inch receiver for about 4 years now and have zero complaints. Just hauled our bikes from DFW to New Orleans and back for a long weekend on the back of the wife's new JLUR.

They have a 4 bike version if you need more space.

Anyone run with the Thule T2 Pro Bike Rack ? We have electric assist bikes so they are a bit heavier than a typical bike so need a heavy duty rack... I know these are expensive but if they are really heavy duty and will last for a very long time than perhaps worth it but would like to hear from anyone with a Wranger that uses one... Thanks

1up. The best money can buy. Pricey but well worth it and the resale is great.

Another Vote for the 1up racks. I've have mine for 7ish years. Excellent rack....they are expensive but their cost is still a small fraction of the cost of a good bike.

You can also hook the straps around the spare tire which still allows you to open tailgate with rack and bikes on...highly recommend this rack.
